Dropped off some stuff @ Primo today. Fuelrail, FPR, and blinged oil cap. Hoping for a blacker engine bay.

Thanks guys.

Good luck tomorrow at DB! let us know how she does!

CornFed2.4 05-18-2011 12:42 AM

Re: My 95 talon

Things didn't go as planned. I missed my appt. at DB due to stupid me ordering the wrong NGK br7es, and not the brp7es. Yes theres a diffrence, but i didnt know till I googled it.

So threw in the right plugs, acted a little better but through a p0300 (multiple misfire) and now need to trouble shoot from there.

Plans are to

Buy new wires a new set of BRP7ES. Then see if that fixes anything.

If not Ill check coil and power transistor. I am geting spark and fuel across all 4. So that rules out a little.

scheides 05-18-2011 08:20 AM

Re: My 95 talon

I think you mean BPR7ES? :)

C3L1CA 05-18-2011 08:48 AM

Re: My 95 talon

That sucks about the plugs!

My old car used to throw that multiple misfire code when I first got it running. I think all I did was check the little "don't check for misfire code" button in dsmlink and it solved all my problems. Maybe something to look at?

CornFed2.4 05-18-2011 09:18 AM

Re: My 95 talon

Scheides as long as the P is in there I'm good. I think the misfire isn't checked in link o look again.

Shane@DBPerformance 05-18-2011 10:09 AM

Re: My 95 talon

You get that code with a 6-bolt in a 2G. You just turn it off in Link.

goodhart 05-18-2011 11:04 AM

Re: My 95 talon

The difference in those plugs is just how far the tip protrudes into the combustion chamber right? We ran both in a locals car last week and it didn't make a difference. The gap made a bigger difference than the plug did.

Shane@DBPerformance 05-18-2011 11:09 AM

Re: My 95 talon

Yea, the BR7ES are typically a nitrous plug. They will foul out easier than normal projected tip plug.

CornFed2.4 05-18-2011 05:29 PM

Re: My 95 talon

Yeah they were fouling out immediately! Going home now to check link to see if it got clicked on.

CornFed2.4 05-18-2011 09:37 PM

Re: My 95 talon

yeah I clicked in on. So its off now and got a new one. p0201 (circuit malf. cyl 1).

Little update.

I ended up breaking my crank by the # 4 rod bearings.

List of things that will be done to get it back up and running.

Oem 2.4 crank from Leasure
oem timing belt
power solution ml headgasket
L19s
acl race bearings
clean and inspect everything

I'll update with pics as soon as it's out

Lets get it done, sounds like a solid plan. L19s and HG will allow you to run some real boost without worry.

Nice of Mark to sell you a crank, I know he has thoughts of hoarding them. :D

Yeah I still gotta grab it from him my schedule is keeping me out of Eagan, so I'll prolly grab it early next week.

If they make one for the 2.4. When I called MAP, this is what they suggested and ran in there 2.4. They said the power solutions was just as good if not better.

I do need to hoard them. Not easy to find these days. I wish I had 2-3 extras on hand. Happy to get someone else up and runnign tho.

Re: My 95 talon

Picked a 2.4 crank from Leasure. Dropping it off at crankshaft supply tomorrow. Then ordering some acl race bearings so I can move toward with this bish!

Thanks again Mark.

Yeah, I'm lazy! So the crank will be done tuesday. Pretty impressed to guy said what would you like us to do to this 2.4 crank. I know that's all the do, but I thought it was cool and glad it's in there hands.

Crossing fingers to be up and running by the 15th

Re: My 95 talon

It's been a while so time for some updates!

After having the crank at crankshaft supply for almost 2 months and still no success on getting the broken bolt out! I picked it up and went to MAP to see wht they could do? No luck there they sent me to somewhere off of university and 37th. (i forget the name)

So now he bolt is out and crank is ready to go!

Things I picked up some things from MAP today

87mm permatorque
87mm wiseco rings
ACL main/rod bearings
H11 HD headstuds

Things I already have

38 mm tial
2150 HI FIC

Things I have to get still

6262sp BB
STM FF mani
V3
fuel lines from tank/rail/tank
seats

Hoping to make 600 @ DB this spring!

Also what do I need to upgrade from v2.5 to v3?

Just go to dsmlink.com and follow the directions there.

I'm not sure exactly how it works on a 2g though. I'm pumped to see this, you might make Jim cry, if he is still in the country anyway.

Why would Jim cry. Lol

I contact them through email and see what they say
