^Nice, looking good dude.

I am on the hunt for some more 223 this week, doubtful that I find any. This weekend I am going up north to a buddies cabin where they belong to a 300 yard range for a weekend of shooting fun :)

Does anyone know anywhere locally that has any stock of 223 or 5.56 rounds? I'd love to pick up another 100 rounds for this weekend.

Ditto on the .223, just sucks that people who want to use it can't without paying $1+ a round for even steel cased shit.

Every place I go to is sold out.

All the stores say that the same people come in every single day and just buy out everything they get. So apparently people are just hoarding it all not even shooting it. So fucking stupid that people are that concerned with stockpiling 1000's of rounds. i just want a few hundred to shoot for fun, sheez.

It's buying them up to stock pile and also re-sell that is killing it. I'd like to get 1k rounds for some .223 brass to allow me to shoot a couple hundred rounds a month for the summer. most of my other shooing is via 9mm or .22 and even that is hard to get now.

Thanks Peter for the tip!

It's shitty ammo (varmint rounds) and expensive, but now I have some damn 223 to shoot this weekend at least, well more than a few clips worth. Yay.

Re: The Gun Thread

So I went up north last weekend to a friends cabin shooting. We had probably 10 different guns, finally a chance to shoot outside at a 300 yard range (I basically did all my shooting at 25-100 yards though as at 200 we got sick of running out to move targets). Sighted the SCAR in at 100 yards with Goodharts ACOG, this scope is pretty badass.

Here is the grouping at just over 100 yards, I was using a cooler to balance on, not the most stable thing, but I felt pretty good with this.

The gun is really starting to grow on me, I love it.

Found this out though this weekend...my buttstock lock broke off.

Ordered a new one though, it was 5 bucks lol.

Also put these on yesterday, present from LaRue tactical.

Now my picitanny doesn't feel like crap. I think i put 200 rounds through the SCAR, its good and broken in now. Felt awesome to MAG dump finally too!

That is a solid group for .223 at 100yds, basically 1 MOA. Now that you know the gun and ammo are pretty accurate, I say try improving your accuracy skills by not using the cooler to support the gun. Have you practiced accuracy in standing, seated, and prone positions? I find this the most fun part of shooting; using a bipod or some rest gets boring quick.

BTW, have you been shooting .223 or 5.56? Can't remember what ammo you picked up.

Edit: I can't wait to try out my new .308 that has been sitting in the case since January. Visiting my parent's house for my dad's birthday the weekend of March 23rd, he just bought a Savage bolt FCP-SR .308 too so it will be a good contest. I'm sure I'll lose lol.

Let us know how the shooting goes on the new .308, that is my next gun I think, a 308 bolt of some kind.

I have both .223 and 5.56, i even tried mixing them in the same clip, didn't seem to matter.

I did some sitting shooting, but I did a lot more standing/walking shooting with multiple targets and quick acquisition stuff. It was still easy to hit the targets but obviously groupings weren't really groupings at that fast speed. I was happy to just hit the targets.

Then I did some prairie dog target shooting at 100 yards and destroyed it lol.

Re: The Gun Thread

I'm looking at getting a rifle in .308. Im looking at either a DSA FAL or building a .308 Saiga. I don't want an AR10. And cant afford a .308 scar lol.

Re: The Gun Thread

So, I am debating about selling the SCAR right now. With spring coming, I don't think I can afford two expensive habbits, shooting and cars. I love the gun and don't regret buying it as its the one I always wanted, but I could use some extra scratch for car and house stuff.

I am like 50/50 if I will sell or not. I figured I would give locals a chance at it first and not totally sure on the price as of yet.

I did fix the butt stock lock too so its all good to go now. Clean and ready to rock!

I am probably going to get a .45 pistol for shooting and home defense if I sell it then use the extra money on other things and save some for a rainy day. I will buy another AR in the future but for now I don't use my SCAR enough to justify how much I paid for it.

If you are interested or might know anyone interested let me know please. Thanks guys.

I am not desperate to sell it either, so serious buyers only. I am ok to lose some money on the sale from what I paid but not a lot, they are still selling for VERY high prices.
