We've all been waiting for 5 years for this build to finish. We can wait a couple more days. :)

Good to hear they are going to take care of you! Be patient, and use this time to clean up anything else that could be improved on! Don't start rushing things now, you're so close!!

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

I did ship it cheaply, and upset about the wait. ARG! I just installed a starter on a buddie's 2g (MAP's old shop car) and I miss boost. I'm impatient, only because I think I've waited long enough. It's about time shit starts going right for me, and I hope this guy gets it turned around asap, and DB can get me on the rollers stat.

There's also a possibility a friend might end up painting the car while it's down..not sure yet. Let's hope.

^Remember I have a paint guy if you got the $$$. obviously not full price $$ lol.
Good luck man, this is probably the only thing that really has come out of nowhere to bite you.

Turbo should be shipping back today, so I'll have it by end of week, so he says. Scheduled retune: 7th.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

good deal man. Heres hoping for a good 360 bearing'd turbo. :)

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

He said he's fixing it today to get shipped out tomorrow, but still assures me I'd get it by end of week..Im thinking he's full of mexican shit.

I DID find out that the nickname of this turbo is "Y2K". I guess it's a popular combo for florida and east coast guys..it's a p-trim exhaust turbine, .70 ar divided t4 housing, PTE CHRA but with the 70.3mm gt4294 comp wheel, cover, backing plate and etc. Hopefully, it's fixed this time.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Weak sauce on that turbo. A billet 67mm would probably destroy that combo as far as spool and power. The p-trim exhaust wheel becomes a restriction even with a normal old 67mm comp side. An old 67mm is usually the biggest comp side people normally run with a p-trim.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Well, it's too late this year for me to change it. We shall see if I am pleased or not with what it does, and go from there over winter yet again. Still free for the 7th Shane?

turbotalon1g 06-01-2010 08:00 PM

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Maybe a consultation with shane or other people that know about turbos before reading internet shit and getting crappy whore turbos next time?

Good luck on the 7th I'm sure I will be still unemployed so give me a shout.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

well, rhe research I did showed decent results, and I got it for a good price, plus I wasn't too keen on doing what everyone else does. Sometimes I like to take the less traveled path, even if I find out it was wrong.

Not the wisest way to go in the car world. You have a too small and outdated exhaust wheel mated with the worst of the GT42R compressor wheels.

Looks like i'll be changing it over the winter then.
