Clutch slip owns, guess we have a good fuse for the track.
Plenty of power left on tap, but we tapped out the clutch right away.

Congrat! But, I told you not to put the ACT 2100 in there. :)

Wow, that thing is going to be a handful! Is any of the short powerband due to the clutch slipping? Nice numbers, it should be a lot of fun to drive.

Yeah the clutch slips the more we turn it up, its like a torque converter :)

John just hit it on the street, LMAO. 1-2 shift car got about 45 degrees sideways @9k in 1st gear. The car unloads even with a 140 ramp rate, we didn't bother to try higher.

We will leave the power where it is at for now and just sort out the rest of the car for spring, see you all tommorrow.

It could make more tommorrow if the clutch is broken in, we'll see.

Eh thats stuff you tell customers.

It'll break in over time.

By unload, do you mean the clutch slipping? What was the boost at?

Why does it need break-in? I wouldn't think he would have an organic disc in there.

Its a 6 puck FE disk, it might wear in a little.

Boost was at 36, but spikes higher in the beginning.

The track will be a good place to finish tune the car, and if the clutch still does not work I will find a 3200lb PP and if that does not work then I save up for a Tiltan triple disk or something. Yes we ment the clutch is slipping, the tires are not spinning on the dyno atleast. It nice to shift and be right back on peek torque though, this should be a fun car on slicks at the track. I thought about going to the track sunday, but I do not need to see what my track time would be while doing a few 360s.

You missed out, I sold an ACT 3200 PP for $75 not too long ago.

I want to see if its a problem on the track first, SBC also sujested the disk will have to wear itself into the flywheel and PP, this might take a little time, we will see.

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars

Do they have some puck disc that requires no breakin at all that you can just throw in? I find it strange that is slipping with the torque that your car is making, my wifes old 2600 holds over 400ft-lbs at the wheels on the dyno without slipping.

Speedfreak 10-24-2007 07:34 PM

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars

My 2600 has held 490wtq(on my Dynojet) and at the track. It did smell a bit after each run at Cedar falls, but no obvious slipping down the track. The same clutch is still in the car two years later.
