Clutch slip owns, guess we have a good fuse for the track.
Plenty of power left on tap, but we tapped out the clutch right away. |
Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Congrat! But, I told you not to put the ACT 2100 in there. :)

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Wow, that thing is going to be a handful! Is any of the short powerband due to the clutch slipping? Nice numbers, it should be a lot of fun to drive.

John just hit it on the street, LMAO. 1-2 shift car got about 45 degrees sideways @9k in 1st gear. The car unloads even with a 140 ramp rate, we didn't bother to try higher. We will leave the power where it is at for now and just sort out the rest of the car for spring, see you all tommorrow. It could make more tommorrow if the clutch is broken in, we'll see. |
Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
So much for breaking in the clutch!

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
even in the office it was load...had to tell a customer to hold on cuz couldn't here him on the phone!

It'll break in over time. |
Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
By unload, do you mean the clutch slipping? What was the boost at?
Why does it need break-in? I wouldn't think he would have an organic disc in there. |

Boost was at 36, but spikes higher in the beginning. |
Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
The track will be a good place to finish tune the car, and if the clutch still does not work I will find a 3200lb PP and if that does not work then I save up for a Tiltan triple disk or something. Yes we ment the clutch is slipping, the tires are not spinning on the dyno atleast. It nice to shift and be right back on peek torque though, this should be a fun car on slicks at the track. I thought about going to the track sunday, but I do not need to see what my track time would be while doing a few 360s.

wowza. Very nice work yet again!

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Who wants to loan me some tires for the track this weekend?

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
You missed out, I sold an ACT 3200 PP for $75 not too long ago.
|
Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
I want to see if its a problem on the track first, SBC also sujested the disk will have to wear itself into the flywheel and PP, this might take a little time, we will see.

Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
Do they have some puck disc that requires no breakin at all that you can just throw in? I find it strange that is slipping with the torque that your car is making, my wifes old 2600 holds over 400ft-lbs at the wheels on the dyno without slipping.
|
Re: Finally getting stuff done on our cars
My 2600 has held 490wtq(on my Dynojet) and at the track. It did smell a bit after each run at Cedar falls, but no obvious slipping down the track. The same clutch is still in the car two years later.
