HA HA HA, Lampshape, What propaghanda are you talking about? Are you saying that pot is good for you? That it makes you smarter? That it makes you more healthy? Im sorry buddy but it doesnt do any of the things above that is for DAMN sure.
To those saying alcohol is the best drug. By far are wrong. Alcohol and cigarettes are far more addicting and kill far more people.

Being that everyone has been saying "by definition of gateway drug" i have a strong feeling that the Definition of a gateway drug is getting really blurred in all of this.
So i will give you the ACTUAL DEFINITION of Gateway drug: "DEFINITION OF GATEWAY DRUGS - Gateway drugs are those drugs with which people first experiment, and which often lead to the use of more dangerous drugs. +1. No where did we say everyone that smokes pot ends up a low life, but 9 out of 10 are. There were 3 drug caused suicides in my town in the past two years. My good friend from kindergarten/first grade hung him self in his closet, my good friend Zach's best friend hung himself and one of the most popular guys at school hung himself over drug addictions. Dont sit there and tell us we're close minded for not wanting to do drugs, bad shit happens with them. And dont give me that "definition of gateway drug" bullshit. People do it first and go onto the more hardcore ones. Sounds "gateway" enough to me.

Oxycontin is a pain killer not a controlled substance but nevertheless I'm very sorry to hear about your friend, Tom and I have a friend who got in a really bad car accident and she barely lived and now she has to take Oxycontin to control pain because she lost the part of her spine that normally controls it.

I didn't generalize a thing. I have a small handful of friends who smoked pot, and heck I tried it with them a few times but almost got caught so I quit. All of my other friends who smoked it, moved onto acid. Only one of them stopped it and joined the Army, all the others aren't doing well at all. It makes me glad I stopped. Again I don't care what any of you do. I personally just chose not to do it. I'm not saying you're an idiot, I'm not saying think like me, just stating my small experiences with what it did to my friends, and that makes me glad I stopped so quickly, and glad I am not doing it now.

As far as saying that we are the ones generalizing, I am not a "we", and you are doing it just as well saying "everyone on here is like everyone else you met besideds your close friends", or "everyone on here is so close minded", or "everyone on here doesn't like drugs because of propaganda". I have my own opinion, you have yours, and that's fine with me. Some people seem to be getting real butthurt. We live in a free country, everyone can do and think as they please, so who gives a shit if someone else doesn't agree with you. I sure don't care.

A gateway drug is a drug that's use causes people to move on to harder drugs. People who start out smoking pot and move on to harder drugs is better explained by the age, availability and willingness to use drugs of the individual. For instance, someone who is in 7th grade is probably not going to know much about hard drugs much less where to get them from, but they are going to know about, and where to find pot. If that person is willing to try any kind of drug, they may be the ones that grow up and get into harder stuff, but it's not because marijuana was the gateway to the harder drug use. Marijuana only comes first because it is more available which is where people get the idea that it is a gateway drug, but it really isn't.

Out of nearly 200 people that have visited the site today, read this thread and not I'd say we only have those who have the right to express their thoughts. In this case, you are being just as close minded to their thoughts. Open minds need to see all directions before they become near sighted.

And there are other moives and they say shit like you'll wind up killing someone or you see yourself as a zombie or a werewolf from merely smoking pot. Granted that Reefur Madness was made in the 30s' but I can guarantee you that the pot they had back then was no where near as potenet and the shit you can buy today, but I'm not going to go into that. I've never hallucinated or come close to it when I smoke and It's never been said either by anyone. Also, watch that Penn & Teller show on HBO called Bullshit about the War on Drugs and tell me there's no propaganda about drugs.
