I just spoke with the body shop and they're saying about 2 weeks for the car depending on how quickly Mitsu can get the parts. I also spoke with State Farm and we're in the process of working out the small details; they're sending the claims adjuster back to the shop to look at the things we feel he missed.

Fortunately I've only had one accident and the adjuster liked working with the shop that I chose. Hope they get you patched up to your satisfaction asap.

I just fought a bit more with insurance over the phone and they're going to take care of the smaller stuff they were trying to deny so that's good news at least.

Good, I'm glad to hear they're actually doing what you pay them to do.

No kidding. That's exactly what I told them. I've been paying them for 12 years and this is the first major claim I've ever made.

And now it's your turn to know why my car took so long :(

The first wave of parts should take a week, then hope they don't need more.

Yeah insurance companies have a hard time understanding that you want your damn car the same way it was before it was crashed. That means if the windows were tinted and one broke then they all might have to be redone to match. Or if you had underbody neons on your car and they broke (not that anyone here would) you would want them replaced as well. Fucking insurance companies have no trouble raping its customers with outrageous preminums and grey area, but when it comes to actually paying out a claim they act like you are trying to rip them off. Fuck idiots.

Hopefully it goes well Chris, I still don't know why you are downgrading back to an S2k though. I would make the EVO a convertible before I would do that. :)

So...the police dept is trying to charge me $6 for the accident report. They can go fuck themselves. Public servants what? If my insurance needs it they can go right ahead and pay the $6 for it.

From the sounds of things this is pretty standard throughout the country (at least from what I've heard from some MN residents). Maybe it varies city by city? Either way, its retarded and I'm not paying for it since I'm sure it's bogus and inaccurate anyway.

I had to pay for a police report from Circle Pines (the cost was per piece of paper). Blaine charged me nothing. Maybe it all depends on the person behind the counter?

Ive never been charged either. Weird.

They should charge the person that hit you, not both parties. :P
