It's really quite insane how well VW Diesels seem to hold their value.

The only thing I don't like aobut them is the maintenance costs, but then again my friend has had it for 1, maybe 2 years and its over 30k miles.

My buddy's sister got a new Ford Fiesta, I think, and loves it. Says she gets like 30-35+ mpg and was only around 15-16k brand new.

As a general rule of thumb, don't buy the first generation of of anything. This is generally true with cars too.

super cheap for a nice awd dd

Oooo, both of those are tempting, not sure on getting a loan on a car that is 10 years old though...

But the hatch, I like. I am for sure going to stop at a subbie dealer, I think the AWD goodness might win me over for shitty winters.

loan on a ten yr old car would be hard but its sooo worth it for a nice bugeye to bad its not a wagon. The new hatches are nice, you can fold down the rear seats and haul/store lots of dead bodies and hookers. oh and stop at morries mntka.

And since its not a turbo, I won't feel the need to make it faster lol.

If I got the bugeye it would be like 6 months before I was buying an STI motor and tranny....

I am for sure checking out the hatches, I like them a lot. Simple and AWD...just sucks they aren't "great" on MPG. But hey I can't win them all, plus 13k price region is a solid deal and lower payments. I have the evo to mod still.

Yeah the mpg is not the greatest, but you will enjoy the simpleness if it. heck you can get a new one starting at 17k. otherwise a base legacy is nice too.

16k is very reasonable for that, just need a black or blue one now.

Go buy a Camry or Accord for 5k and use the other 10k for something completely unrelated to a car.

I have a piece of shit accord already...I am sick of driving something that when it breaks i don't want to fix it because it is in fact a POS.

I need something where everything works and is reliable.

I would rather fix my accord up for like 500 bucks then buy another one.

Details about said accord?

Mine?

What kind of details, lol. It's prolly a $1000 car tops, but it has never ever let me down.

No A/C, heat works but not awesome. Some rust, plenty of scratches and dings etc, bad front wheel hub, needs exhaust work bad.

no idea on miles...speedo/odometer doesn't work. I'd say 200k+

Thing is a rock though, never fails to start and get me places.

Those new Legacys are so butt ugly. At least get the previous gen. Im surprised those Imprezzas are that cheap with that low of mileage.

Caliber SRT-4, there is a Black caliber SRT-4 for 13,3K at luther brookdale dodge. Very nice cars, they are quick and they also have some function. If you have kids or plan on it, they actually work great for a kid hauler. Call up realtune and get a MS1K ECU and with some simple bolt ons you can reach 340hp 380tq. Also a very nice 6spd or you have the Neon SRT-4, pretty much unlimited crap that can be done.
