i will be there with some friends, we wanna camp but i havent looked at the weather yet, my cabins only 20 mins away from BIR so we might stay there if worst comes to worse

Not using a tent this year! Last year I only had the matching car trailer, this year we will have the bus too.

I wish I could make it to this event since I have never been to one of these events, Im new to the DSM world and I was finally able to buy one last year, It was my dream car since I was 13 and Im now 21, But Im probably not gonna be able to come because its about a 1 1/2 hour drive from me and money is tight at the moment and I already purchased tickets for the Powercruise event in July.

I would really like to meet some other DSM owners because I have never talked to anybody that owns one and never seen one run at the track other then a wednesday night street drag at BIR and it was stock 2g. I usually go to the wednesday nights to watch because my dad drag races his mustang up there, I wish I could race but my car is far from running as Im in the process of doing a full restore to my 98 eclipse GS-t

How many times a year does map throw this event?

I'm going for the day saturday. I'll be leaving Big Lake at 6am if you want a ride. you'll have to deal with my 3 year old daughter talking the whole way and kicking your seat for 2 hr though. I'm shure there will be alot of people comeing through Big Lake on there way willing to give you a lift too.

The campgrounds is an epic good time. I would skip the hotel for sure. Camping is free with a weekend entry. The after hours fun is well worth the trip itself!


Both should sell helmets that work. You need a snell 2005 rated helmet, anything older will not work. I think at a retail location, you wouldn't find anything older, but it's possible. Read the inner tag, or sometimes it's placed on the back of the helmet.

If you ask a sales person for this, they should know what you're referring to.

The road course info I got said a Snell 2000 helmet will work, and other rules with the MAP logo on them said '95 and up... which is it?

snell 2000 or newer. This is the last year NHRA rules will allow 2000. So next year be prepared to buy a new helmet.

It was in the email sent out yesterday about the road course rules, flags, tech requirements, etc. It was an attachment called "Road Course and HSAX Rules", section 3.c.

I just used last years Road course rules sheet. it should be updated to the snell 2000.

We should have a few loaner helmets available. But not too many.

the parking lot auto-x has no pre-reg. simply show up, pay up, and run! We should be able to get plenty of timed runs in as you will not have to work. therefore no delays in heat changovers.

The auto-x should be fun, we have full timing with a display. I plan on setting up a nice tricky but fast course.

NOS energy drink will be up giving out tons of freebies all weekend. As well as bringing up their R/C Drift track.

Will someone have a low-profile jack and oil changing tools (basic sockets) I can use tomorrow evening around 6-8pm? I didn't have time to change it tonight but I'm going to bring the oil & filter up with me tomorrow.

I'll be bringing two jacks and 2 jackstands and a whole pile of tools. You're welcome to use them whenever I get up there.

I have a whole pile of stuff sitting next to my car in the garage, pretty much all packed up and ready to load up when I get home from work! I'm not sure I have room for the shotski though....
