I like the new and old Evo, I was just thinking that they should offer something else also with some potential, not just a total POS FWD NT Lancer. GM has the Corvette and then the Z06 Corvette. Ford has the Mustang GT and then the Mustang Cobra or Shelby Mustang.

Yeah that does make sense. It is odd to have such a large gap.

Very true, a scaled back version or mid level mitsu would probably due the company some good. Although the current Eclipse V6 is actually pretty quick, so that fills their gap, just not in a awd 4cylinder way.

True. It almost seems like the newer Eclipses have become a forgotten car though.

Yeah you barely see any on the road at all and advertising has really died down for them. Its not a bad car for non-enthusiasts; good power, agressive/modern looks, cool interior, etc.

I'm sorry, but after the wedding I will do everything I can to make sure this is Jana's next car. This sitting next to the MS6 as our tow cars would give me wood every morning!

Yea, that's for sure. When I had the GSX and the evo at the same time it was the coolest thing in the world to walk into the garage every day! Hrm, which one to drive....

Yeah Mitsu has done a nice job with this!

It almost looks like a Charger crossed with an RX8. I hope they get the transmission right, but the auto isnt a good sign, as I dont think any company has made paddles work in a car that was less than $80k. I dont think a manual is an option.

At first I didn't really like the way it looks, but the more I see it, the more I like it

Yeah it is; some sources are saying 5-speed, others are saying 6. Personally, I think Mitsu would be dumb to make it a 5 rather than 6 since pretty much all sports cars are going with 6's now rather than 5's.

I agree Chris, most I have seen have been saying 5 speed. Why not use the 6 speed in the current MR? I'll be pissed if it comes out with a 5 speed.

They can use that as a starting point maybe, but Mitsu seriously needs to revamp the way they design and manufacture transmissions since there are tons of fairly low mileage EVO's that have already had their tranny rebuilt or getting notchy/troublesome. I'm sure most of it is due to poor driving technique, but still, they should last longer than this.

The six speed in the MR is not a mitsu tranny, it is built by ASIN. Generally people seem to have more issues with syncros on the five speed, and with the six speed you will find a weaker fourth gear but better shifting and syncros.

Interesting, very interesting. Thanks for the info.
