Relying on VDR is a waste of time. It's an estimate and nothing more, using it as a tool is foolish.

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Okay I thought i could trust vdr guess not. My boost stays the same. Car does feel slower tho..

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Do you have logs at all? Is timing being pulled? Bad batch of gas possibly?

t-revzr 03-18-2010 05:14 PM

Re: T-revzr's Evo

To use vdr you have to log it. I think matt and Chris are right tho. I looked at another graph and it said I had 438whp. My tq is low but that all shall be fixed when Shane tunes it! Im gonna mess with the car tomorrow if its not nasty out!

Re: T-revzr's Evo

Stop worrying. :) We'll get the double-pump in and get it on the rollers at DB. That will tell the truth :) VDR is nice for quick before/afters, but unless you are careful to keep all conditions exactly the same (starting/stopping RPM, same stretch of road, keep steering wheel 110% perfectly straight) it is not super consistent.

Re: T-revzr's Evo

We tried MCCC last night, and if the problem was cause by carbon build-up, the damage is already done :(

You'll have to deal with 'only' 400whp until the head is back up to 100% trev! :)

Nice, good work man! Get that thing running, defy the gods with a local evo that runs well!

Awww yea, check out the green shirt/red boxers xmas combo! fuk those bolts on that IM bracket. fuk them right in the ear.

Overall a relatively painless teardown and clean. Got my head prepped and trevor's block cleaned. All we need are some headstuds and a headgasket and we'll be in biz.

Oh, since you've been going nuts on pulling weight out of this thing, we gotta yank the charcoal canister too. It takes 10 mins and is worth 10 pounds.

Nice work guys. Are you picking up the headstuds today from map? Or when are you finishing up the job?

Awesome man, sorry I'm not there to help.

Evo's run just fine, don't get tied up with these other yahoo's.

It looks like we would have to order in an Evo 8 OEM gasket if that's what you are after sir, but we have ARP studs in stock (only 1 set so let me know ASAP) as well as our new A1 high performance studs which I highly recommend and can do for the same price as ARP's ;)

I kind of wish I had used those. :frown:

Trevor, call Brookdale and see if they have a head gasket in stock. If so, pay for it over the phone with a credit card.
