I plan to work it hard so I want to make sure it's up to the task ;) Nothing screams MitsuStyle cruise like 40's of Hurricane and bottles of Long Islands.

I woke up Sunday with my liver laying next to me, crying. I'm all warmed up for the cruise if I get this POS together in time.

I'm excited! My liver will be punished Saturday night.

I decided to just drive the Evo and not the 1g, just so I can drive and enjoy the cruise and not have to worry about the car holding together. Plus, it might violate scheides' 2 week rule ;)

Re: Fall Cruise - October 16-17th, 2010!

I am going to have to violate the 2 week rule. I flogged the bejesus out of my car for 4 days straight in the twisty Mt roads of the Black Hills. It's running awesome but it's now blowing oil smoke like a train at idle... It never ends this shit...

^^ You just have the worst luck with having a good running 1g on cruises.

STOCK TURBO SON!

I think you made it plenty clear last time with your pants around your ankles while being carried back to your room! :rollinglaugh:

With that being said, feel free to do it again, cause that shit was hilarious son.

For the record, 2 week rule is in effect now, people.

And fuck yeah, stock turbo indeed.

Um, about that 2 week rule.
I'm planning on picking up my wheel bearing today and some of my gauges come in tomorrow. :joint2:

The 2 week rule basically applies to performance mods, not maintenance. Gauges are a grey area unless it increases the chance of a boost/oil/fuel/coolant leak. :)

There are so many cars coming that I'm not concerned about it. If I messed something up then I'd ask to hitch a ride.

Or just leave your car alone. We dont want to deal with any unnecessary stops. This isnt a race to duluth, if your car runs fine now, work on your fuel issues after we get back.

Re: Fall Cruise - October 16-17th, 2010!

I called American Airlines and explained the two-week rule to them!

I did two wheel bearings and struts/springs on my Talon 3 days before the fall cruise last year. Never again. One week out for that stuff, save for fluids.

If that's the case then I'll drive the Plymouth. It's been a quite a while since I've trusted the Evo enough to not have my entire tool box in the trunk. It's a DSM, you know.

I'll have a tool kit my trunk as well haha. And extra seats for you Mitsu owners.

Thankfully I'm not spaz.

And we might have to take you up on that since my car's longest trip has been about 13-16 miles each way.

I'm getting boost, trans and egt. Probably the boost will be the only one working.

Ha im always paranoid, but i made it to river falls at a pretty quick speed whipped a few donuts on a huge grass field. Made it in time to uni then almost 1/3 of the way to duluth cause i got lost and back home. DSM arent that bad for road trips. I was more worried about runing out of gas at that moment.

Spaz will still be fixing his shit in the parking lot, even if it is a stock turbo.

Don't worry, I'll probably be right beside you.

Got the motor in tonight, finally. Just have to fab up a downpipe, IC lower pipe, do the brakes, break in the motor, and get it tuned. 2-week rule, bah!

2 week rule, you have 2 weeks to start building the car from almost ground up, and have it complete in 2 weeks. Right? :-P

A//// Guy 10-07-2010 08:27 AM

Re: Fall Cruise - October 16-17th, 2010!

Is it too hard to ask that people stick to the 2 week rule? Its there for a reason, so we dont have to worry as much about people breaking down along the way.

Re: Fall Cruise - October 16-17th, 2010!

^It's true. Sadly some of us aren't doing simple bolt ons or really want to go and actually have the ability and/or help to make it with our pride and joy.

I know he is old, but i'd be surprised if OMH had any issues with his car. I still don't have my hub back, but i did pick up a WB!!

Incorrect. Remember when spaz & mark did brakes the night before, then his lugs were loose when we were on our way or when we got there? The goal is to have the engine/tranny/chassis/driver 110% confident in the car so you can just go and enjoy a nice drive through the wilderness :) 2-week rule includes maintenance!

x1000!

Whatever the last thing you touch is, put 200-300 miles on it before we leave, then CHECK YOUR FLUID LEVELS AND TIRE PRESSURE, then off we go!

Nope, you might not screw the drain bolt on all the way and leak all your oil out during the cruise :P haha
