99.9% there. I have the two switches installed in the new location and wired up so one turns on half, and the other turns on the other half. I also have the fan switch wired up which controls all three fans. I do still need to anchor the fans (you can see the anchor cable still dangling). And then the ceiling portion of this project is pretty much done and time to come up with a plan for a new shelving/storage layout. Overall I'm very happy with how this turned out, but it did prove that I still need some sort of side/front lighting like my old fluorescents were. The garage is extremely well lit, but working under the hood of the car is dark.

Looks good! I picked up my remodel shallow cans for the kitchen last weekend since menards was having a sale. Did you use a hole saw to cut them all out? Will have to plastic off everything for all that dust that will rain down.

Looking good B-man. I went with 15 LED cans in my 720 sq/ft garage, I wish I would've went with more. I'm extremely happy with the lights though compared to the old days of fluorescent bulbs that hummed and took a lot of time to warm up. The low wattage draw is a nice benefit as well.

Agree Steve. I was torn between these or fluorescent, but in the end I chose these and I do like em. The garage is extremely well lit, but I do partially wish I would have still gotten more simple because when the fans are on you get the fan shadowing on the floor/walls. But not a big deal.
Side note, had the Fargo family in town so I had some help and got this new shelf mounted. That space above the garage seems like such dead space so I'm trying to make use of it. Same shelf from Costco that we have above the boat, except we went two wide (16' x 4' total) and it filled up that spot pretty nicely I think. Going to grab a bunch of bins from Home Depot and use that for storage for things we don't use very often (Xmas decorations, Snowboarding gear, etc). Also Jeremy (guy with Supra couple miles from me who has inspired me) made me a couple sketches for what I could do for custom cabinets that would fill the space pretty much perfectly. I really like his ideas. He has each cabinet at ~21.5" wide fitting an even 8 across. Then the upper cabinets just leave out the middle two for mounting a decent sized flat screen (Mr. Leisure you're my inspiration for that!!). I'll probably go with his second sketch which gives lots of cabinet room and also a bunch of drawers. |

I love it! Happy to inspire too. Every good garage needs a refrigerator, flat screen, and a stereo with dolby digital. To maximize space use in wall speakers.

A few updated pics. It's almost done with rough framing, should be done with all the big stuff tomorrow and working on detail stuff and then hopefully setting windows Friday. Fun to see it finally take shape.

^That thing is awesome and the portability is nice.
I just have a cheapy stereo in my garage with a sub and it's plenty. Not like I'm running around the place to need sound in every corner, but it's def. loud enough to crank up if I'm having a gathering. |

Yea I have an old Pioneer reciever and 2 bookshelf speakers in my garage. The neighbor has a sub and some speakers in his. When hes out working in his garage, I can feel the bass in my house, super annoying. Dont be that neighbor :)
Jungys powerbox had really good sound! Thought about picking one of those up too for camping, garage work, etc. Its nice and portable and cordless. |

Not as cool as come projects but getting close to getting the baby's room done. The walls were originally a weird shade of yellow/white and had the awesome sliding closet doors that were mirrors with the brass colored trim. Should've taken before pictures but after painting the walls those closet doors looked brutal..
Painted the room a grayish color, replaced the closet doors with some white doors, replaced the outlets and covers with white vs that old school looking brown white as well as put up new curtains and new white blinds on the one window. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4738/...597eacb4_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4596/...e67c62cc_c.jpg Once I saw how much cribs were I said f that I'll make one. Then wife asked if I could make a changing table too... Wood working is kind of fun, but it'd be a lot more fun if I was working in a warm garage without pressure of having it done before the baby comes lol.
