Re: Project Lex
It's lowered just a touch, maybe an inch or so. It's on OEM supra springs and supra bilsteins. The car does actually sit a little lower than that pic suggests. Just when I take it off jack stands the suspension must still be pumped up higher. One drive around the block and it sits a little lower. You can actually get a better representation of how it sits on the dyno picture rather than the plastidip pictures. The dyno pic is it's normal stance.
I have thought about putting it back on some eibachs though. But honestly it already feels really low getting in/out of it, and going up curbs, so I'm not sure I really want it any lower. |
Re: Project Lex
It feels low cause you drive a monster truck for a DD ;)
Hopefully getting new drivers will fix the issue! that really stinks. If it doesn't fix it, do you plan on going to AEM or a different standalone? |
Re: Project Lex
Getting old! cant bend that far. Try getting out of Andrews noble. lol
I vote for moar low! Pro kit engage. |
Re: Project Lex
Haha. Just heard back from DIY, they gave me the text book answer of "replace the whole MS3x card, order it on our site. Thanks".
MS is cool and all, but just seems like vendor/product support leaves a lot to be desired. Then again I've never had AEM, Pro-EFI, etc so I don't have anything to compare it to. Maybe they're all like this. I still like MS, just anyone else considering it I think should be aware that it is very much DIY oriented, and expect to figure shit out yourself with minimal support. If it wasn't for Jordan in Florida that has done this a million times and helps me out, I'd be up shit creek. |
Re: Project Lex
How much does that card run?
|
Re: Project Lex
$100 + shipping. I think all I need are two small chips however, probably a buck a piece. Wonder if I can just source some myself.
The two tiny black components (Q1 & Q2) soldered to the board are what I believe I need. http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/i...qmod-k_med.jpg |
Re: Project Lex
Considering it is DIY, and those look easy to remove, Id just replace them.
|
Re: Project Lex
Yep, since MS3 is built to handle 8 cylinders, I'm going to replace the bad ones with the 'spare' ones to get it back on the road asap. Then probably figure out the manufacturer part number and see if I can't just order up some more and install them in the 2 spare slots later.

Some pics a fellow SC'er took of my car at this weeks UMMO meet. Thanks again Curt for putting this on, and letting us non-Mitsu's still come and partake! Thought they were probably the best pics anyone has taken of my car. Wish I had camera skills.
FYI wheels are plastidipped Anthracite metallic currently. Not sure if I'm digging it, may re-dip them in their silver metallic instead. |
Re: Project Lex
Looks good.
|
Re: Project Lex
I didn't think the wheels looked half bad. Was good chatting last night! I have to get out to more of these.
|
Re: Project Lex
From the pics, the wheels looks good this way.
|
Re: Project Lex
Cool, thanks for the feedback. Im putting the center caps back on too which I think will look better also.
|
Re: Project Lex
Looks good to me, I like the dark look. Hard to make the stockers pop really, they are a very subtle design and they arent very big. Needs more low and a size up :)
|
Re: Project Lex
I agree with you bman, they don't look right I think I liked the silver better.
I think maybe because it represents a cleaner OEM style look to the car and the car is damn clean and has a sporty OEM look to it with the mods you have done. |
Re: Project Lex
I think I agree with you Aaron, but it'll have to wait until next year. Done dinking around with them, just going to continue to enjoy this thing until the snow flies!
