Re: Evo X upgrades
That's awesome. Car looks good. Your wing is bigger than his.

There was a red Evo 8, the STi next to me, and at least one GTR. The 8 was moving pretty good, obviously cammed. The gentleman introduced himself as Peter and was there to show his teen son how to drive it. Didn't really get a chance to chat with him...hung out with a couple Porsche owners most of the day. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
Awesome man! Maybe you could look into a small pop-up tent (with some good weights on it) that you could put up over your parking spot. I always feel more comfortable leaving a pile of stuff like that under a tent, looks more established and people are less likely to just walk up and rummage. Plus, gives you(or your car) a break from the sun if need be.

I would be more worried about the tranny than the motor. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
Jesse told me yesterday that my intake was being polished and would be ready today. Their bead rollers came in this morning so they decided to use them on my intake...it didn't go so well. Would have been nice if I'd known that before driving over.
Situation normal. |
Re: Evo X upgrades
You have some crazy luck man.
How long until they get another one done up for ya? |

I still love my Evo despite all of this (it's a fucking blast on the road course) but I'm leaning toward a Porsche next time. Buy something that I can rock stock. |

Re: Evo X upgrades
Not exciting, but a video that starts with Peter's car, then the Boxster owner that I spent much of the day talking to (Oster?), the nice BMW with big wing, and I think the last car was Todd's.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Time to go put some of Shawn's detailing wisdom to good use. I got the wheels nice and dirty at the track last Monday.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Thank you for everyone that voted for me at the Cookout. I know it's no big deal to win 1st out of 5 cars...especially when most of the other contestants are friends that spent 1/2 the money. lol
It feels good anyway. My build was always intended to be 1/2 show and 1/2 track. This small bit of validation is appreciated! I look forward to going to Factory MOD in Illinois next month and thanks to those of you that have helped me get to this point. http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...10/trophy1.jpg I didn't take a whole lot of pics, but here is the album. http://s959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ut%20-%202010/ |

^^ Nice pic.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Seeing your car in person says more about it than the pics I've seen. Looks very clean and every part was thought out.

Re: Evo X upgrades
When I was on the stock tune I had bolted on the AMS 3" intake and drove it to DB to drop it off...no big deal. I installed the Primo intake and drove it to DB tonight and the car was really pissed off. I guess I should of just thrown it on in his parking lot but I knew I wouldn't be getting there until fairly late.
We'll see what he can do with it tomorrow. It's a lot of work so I wonder if he'll have enough time. He'll be scaling the 3.5" MAF, installing the ID2000's, and doing two tunes that can be map switched. One will be similar to what it has now -- 25psi and 400whp or so. The other tune will be whatever she's got at 30-32psi. I asked him to give psi-based boost control a try if he has the time. |
