And about me going up to the twin cities... I like to run at the track. Easier to see which car is faster and its legal. Id be happy to bring my crappy car back to the track... after all Hondas that trap at 125 can beat it  |
Re: Fastest Street Car On Style
And hey now, I dont need to be an idiot to find it strange.... no one ever posted the correct information on your latest runs apparently and the info that was posted made it seem much differently.
Obviously your car will run quicker, I never doubted it. Just as most every guy like us... the cars will always have problems :) |

On pump gas its manageable at the track, just had clutch issues. On race gas the tires it is on are useless and it is nearly slower because of that. In the end i need proper tires to contain the power at the line/first 400ish feet. I also need to fix a clutch dragging issue (think its a combo of slave cylinder and shifter cable issues) so I can get gears. Add some more boost and we are golden :). Well good enough for these smaller turbo's, I'd like to run larger next year. |
Re: Fastest Street Car On Style
Dont feel bad about more power and the same times... My pos ran an 11.10 @ 129 with 26psi and at 30psi I ran an 11.19 @ 127. I had damned problems with the EMS and ignition. Like I said before, I think everyone here has some sort of problem holding them back... it never ends.

Re: Fastest Street Car On Style
Well, as far as I can tell, no one has beat my time of 7.39 seconds at 249mph.

Judging from your traps I would guess the car was making around 550whp at the track. Even with the weight if it was making 680whp it would have been in the 140 range spinning or no spinning. Maybe there is a flaw in the tuning somewhere, in a controlled environment your AITs will remain relatively constant unless you are doing pull after pull. You take that same tune out where it is 30 degrees hotter and unless you have it calibrated perfectly to compensate for that you could be way down on power. I remember Jet battling the AIT issue a lot in the past, we would street tune the car during the day, then go out at night and it would run like ass since the temp dropped a lot. It took awhile to get that figured out. Maybe thats not your problem but something is not right there if you are 100whp down on power when you are at the track. I guess when you run the nitrous you will see if heatsoak is your problem. And by the way, all the spinning your doing is saving your car, but I am sure you knew that. |

BTW, last weekend the Camaro went 8.80's @ 158mph using only one of the nitrous kits. It has license plates, 10" tires and gets street driven. That's how we do it in Texas. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l2...y/SamPower.jpg |

Re: Fastest Street Car On Style
Wow the fucking peanut gallery on this board is pathetic. I've had my fucking car to the track twice. It will run fast, anyone that actually knows me on this board realizes that we are just working out bugs. Instead of bitching about how some of the fastest cars are running 11's with major issues, get your asses to the track and run your fucking cars.
Oh and btw.. Outlaw=Great job ;). I know how texas rolls, I have a friend with a *gasp* 11 second vr4 that constantly gets paid from "8 second" domestics down there. I have a question for all the neysayers. Who was up there on wednesday? IMHO, it was the worst track day I have ever seen regarding prep. They even announced that they don't prep on wednesdays, and if I recalled it rained the day before. I have hooked 100x better on rockfalls sport compact days. Everything up there that should have layed down traction for me was using my fucking groove. Hell chris cut a best of a 1.6, but I think he only cut one of those...Chris I saw you cut a 1.87 against me with your slicks, what was your average? I would expect 1.5 or low 1.6 60's all day on those tires w/that light of a car. |

Quit yer bitching and get to the track ;). Damm right it's serious fucking business, it's the internet! Side note, the fact that it is 90.1 degrees and rising in my office at 10am with it being 92 degrees in the shop doesn't help my attitude for today. |
