lol Yeah, it is a 2.3 with malhe (9.5:1 I think lol) pistons, and Map ultimate duty rod's.

I'll be back on the dyno once I get that ignition. I'm going to gap down my plug's too lol. I think there at like .030 lol.

I'm looking at that ignition box right now.

I hear everyone likes the ARC-2 boxes better, just get the newer box, since the older ones had issues.

Nice power and powerband, looks like a fun street car.

I'll avoid that whole deal. My fuel pump issues (that I still have) was the same. I heard all sorts of good things about the pump, and yet its the updated version and it still doesn't work right. I'm going to go with either the aem box, or just buy a msd box.

Awesome numbers man! Keep working through issues and moving forward. What was your old setup and what boost versus this setup(6765) and boost?

Badass!!

Give us a dyno graph vs. RPM, i hate vs speed i can't tell what the shit is going on.

So, when is this going to see some street time? track time?

Congrats, you have always put a good combo together and you just keep up the good work.

Nice power, congrats.

Making power isn't rocket science, nice to see good progress when KISS(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KISS_principle) is the gameplan. :)

I have one of those for sale, brand new. Let me know what you'd pay for it(knowing your map hookup)..

I'll have to get the graph off the dyno computer sometime this week and upload it. I had it out last night playing with it on the street against a few relatively fast cars. :) Thanks for the compliments man!!!! You've been a good friend!!

Last year was a T4 6776H from pte with the same exhaust housing ar. ram horn manifold and a single wally 255. 530awhp on 20psi. VS. this year 6765 billet turbo self built custom top mount manifold, and a big external pump. on 35psi for a short short dyno pull. made that 734awhp number.

Re: Progress since last year

Those are some awesome numbers. And the powerband looks amazing. On my 6776 I had a whole 2500 rpm of power, that really sucked.

Oh and I also had problems with fuel lab. I had two pumps burn out on me, so I sold my car... Probably a bad decision.

santa 08-01-2010 07:33 PM

Re: Progress since last year

Yeah, I'll be sending the pump back to them once the season is over. Its been working great with it on highspeed all the time. I do flip it to low speed but not for very long since it still cuts in and out.

I didn't know you worked there now!! I was on the dyno friday night there, then kyle chris and us left around 11. Were you still there?

Re: Progress since last year

I have an Arc-2. I really don't know what to think of them anymore. Mine has done nothing for me at all. All the reviews I've seen are that the original ones worked great, but the newer ones are questionable.

On my setup at 30psi I still need to be gapped no higher than .020".

I don't rule out that there may be something else going on or something that needs replacement, but everything is in fairly new or good condition as far as my ignition system goes as far as I know.

Yeah, thanks for the info! I need to re-gap my plug's for sure! They are open way to far right now!!

Re: Progress since last year

I'll work on getting the time slip up but, this past weekend I brought the car out to the dsm shootout. I only got to run 3 times but the first pass was a 11.0@138mph, the 2nd pass was a 13.3@133mph (lol car was running like ass had to pull 5%global out to get it to run). Then hot lapped it after the 13.3 and got a decent launch with a 1.6 60ft went 108mph in the 1/8th and then finished out at a 10.4@141mph. I'm pretty happy with it so far! My trans grinds pretty bad into 3rd and 4th but it still is working!! A big thank's goes out to Chris Carey with Modern Automotive Performance for getting my car there with their other two race cars!! Thanks guys!!

I'm not to sure when I'll be going back to the track this year. I'll get kicked out right away. I need to put a roll cage in it, and buy the proper suit and stuff. So, that depends on me I guess. I think the only other even I'd like to try to run is the porkey's shootout at cedar falls next month. They are kind of not to stricked about having a cage and stuff there. At the dsm shootout they could care less. I think I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt on my last two passes lol.

10.4@141 nice man! Get some more passes in for consistency, but tough decision on the safety stuff I guess. Congrats!

Badass, I guess u get to make some serious decisions.
I know a cage isn't that light, plus all the $$$.
and then comfort of working around the cage also.

Either way man congrats and let me know when I can get that ride.

A chrome moly 8 point with swing outs should only add about 100lbs to the car. Great runs, what were your 60' times?

Thanks guys!! I'm going to cage the car for sure, I just don't have the time this season to do it. I'll be dropping it off at mean street performance with Richard for a 10point 8.50 legal molly cage with removable door bars over the winter time. As for the 60ft time on the 10.4 it was a 1.6 something on blizzak snow tires. :) I'm hoping to run the car at the porky's shootout next month since they are a little lenient on the safety side of things that day ;)

Re: Progress since last year

Figured I would update my thread. I have a Auto awd trans sitting at map that was delivered yesterday. Upgrades for that are going to be ordered soon. I'm not sure if I'll get it in before the end of the season or not. I've got a few emails I'm awaiting response on about a billet lock up converter. Turbotalon1g, Kiggly, and English racing have been a big help with bringing me up to knowledge on these auto's!! Thanks guys!!!

Well, I just made my appointment lol. Richard at Mean Street Performance will be installing a 10 point chromoly roll cage that will cert to 8.50's sometime around mid December lol. He is way backed up! He does awesome work and is very fair on the price!! I knew if I didn't call sooner then later that he would be booked all winter! Time to strip out the interior and send it off to get "safe"! In the mean time I'll be updating with a write up on building the auto up! Stay tuned!! 2011... low 9's? high 8's? :D Gotta set the bar higher!!

Re: Progress since last year

Get that cage in?

Where is the dyno plot of power vs RPM?

Do u miss me yet?

I heard this turbo will make 650 under 30psi, what r u hoping for?

Can u tell I'm bored.

santa 01-14-2011 09:16 PM

Re: Progress since last year

I'll post a chart I got on my phone of rpm. The 734hp was me letting off at 6800ish rpm it looks like.

As far as the cage goes, I just dropped off 1/2 of the money to Richard last night. Only catch is it's going into map's old blue talon that Kyle went 9's in 3 years ago! Should be about 4-500lbs lighter then my last car as is.

As far as the rest of things are going the auto trans and t-case are sitting in my garage untouched yet. I'll be building my own trans, and once the cage and tube work is done on the chassis it's a matter of putting it together!

My block is out for o-ringing right now, I'll put the motor back together once that's back. I'm hoping once the snow is gone I'll be close to driving it.

Yes miss u lots..... ;)!!!

goodhart 01-14-2011 10:03 PM

Re: Progress since last year

Holy crap, 4-500 lbs lighter and an auto this year? You should be able to dip into the 9's no problemo if everything works out!

Re: Progress since last year

If you made 740 some horse at 45psi with a stick, I would guess based on weight your trap speed will be in the mid/low 140's threw an auto, good luck on the quest for 8's. I made 15hp more then swifty up at DB, and swifty made 729 or what ever on the dyno day at MAP and my race weight was 2450lbs with driver and my best trap speed is 149mph.

~John

Edit: nice numbers for 35psi on a billet 67.

John, I made that 734hp at 35psi not 45psi, with a stock intake manifold(I've got a sheet metal for it now). I'm going to be at 45psi at least, and also running some nitrous. Swifty made 729hp at map this fall. You also only made a few test passes, I'm sure you'll trap faster then that once you get all the bugs out of it. My new car might even be lighter then that with the tubing work on the front (also need to find a cf hood for it). I wont know until its assembled. Through the auto with the juice I'd hope to make around 800hp. 800hp @2750 which would be its current weight on a calculator would be 8.726@155. Obviously those things are a dream meter but it gives me something to go off of.

Lol@734@35psi.

These new turbos make that old shit look rediculous.
