Fucking bullshit.

Re: March for health care!
Here's a great example of what's wrong with Obamacare.
http://money.cnn.com/2010/05/05/smal...change/?hpt=C2 I swear sometimes I really think they are trying to kill small business and self employed entrepreneurs. I'm self employed and am my own LLC. So I guess this means if I go to Office Depot for printer ink, I've got to issue a 1099misc to them? |

This is going to cost everyone from small single employee businesses all the way up to the huge corporations tons of money/energy. This "healthcare bill" is going to be the demise of many companies and our economy as we know it.
How much more shit is buried in this bill that nobody knows about yet? |

Re: March for health care!
Finally, some action being taken.
Rehberg Sponsors Bills to Repeal & Repeal-Replace Obamacare Cites Public Outcry Against Bill, Bad Policy of the Bill and Negative Economic Impacts of the Bill WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, responding to overwhelming public outcry has cosponsored H.R. 4972 which would repeal the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” and H.R. 5424 which would repeal the bill and replace it with the Republican alternative that he supported when the health care bill passed in the House. Rehberg has consistently stated that, while health care reform is absolutely necessary, doing the wrong thing would only make things worse. “Since most of the provisions in this bill don’t even kick in until years from now, we’ve still got time to fix health care with common-sense solutions,” said Rehberg, a member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee. “The bill we’ve got now is so bad, even its supporters are holding their noses, promising it’s just a first step toward some future reform that allegedly would lower costs and increase access. Well, it’s a trillion dollar step in the wrong direction and one we can correct right now.” Read more: http://rehberg.house.gov/common/popu...nt&itemID=1499 |

Re: March for health care!
It wasn't needed. The Republicans wanted to have the hearing two weeks ago. Obama and the Dems blocked it on purpose so Obie could do this. They don't want this guy to go through the confirmation process because he would get grilled on his past.
So much for fucking transparency!! |
Re: March for health care!
Why do we even have a house or congress? Everything/one is just getting forced through anyway.

Re: March for health care!
You mean aside from the fact that it will probably be so complicated shit will take forever to get done. Also so expensive to pay all the people involved that taxes will rise even more!
Or the fact that it is just a shit system perhaps, where everyone has coverage but no one has good coverage. Just a way for the dems to convince the poor people to vote for them again. They aren't paying any more money, why would they care, and they get something they didn't have, a little coverage. |
Re: March for health care!
Reading the article is seriously scary.
"The new law creates 68 grant programs, 47 bureaucratic entities, 29 demonstration or pilot programs, six regulatory systems, six compliance standards and two entitlements." "Getting that massive enterprise up and running will be next to impossible. So Democrats streamlined the process by granting Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius the authority to make judgments that can’t be challenged either administratively or through the courts." "The Congressional Budget Office predicts that premiums for a small number of families who buy their insurance privately will rise by as much as $2,100." "To pay for this expansion, the bill takes $529 billion from Medicare, with roughly 39 percent of the cut coming from the Medicare Advantage program. This represents a large transfer of resources, sacrificing the care of the elderly in order to increase the Medicaid rolls." "For all this supposed reform, you, the American taxpayer, can expect a bill to the tune of $569 billion. Front and center among the new taxes is the 40 percent excise tax on those lucky people with so-called Cadillac health plans. The higher insurance costs that are driven by the government mandates will push many more ordinary plans into Cadillac territory. If the idea of taxing people with coverage deemed too good doesn’t bother you, maybe the new 3.8 percent tax on investment income will. That will apply even to a small number of home sales, those that generate $250,000 in profit for an individual or $500,000 for a married couple." |

Re: March for health care!
Good to hear it. Although the thing that pisses me off is that so many companies (like the one I work at) have already put so much time, effort, and money into getting ready for the changes, that if they reverse this bill... All of that is wasted. Completely wasted.
But I guess Tom will come in here and say it was Obama's plan to create or KEEP jobs. :P |
Re: March for health care!
The dems planned this all along. Hire a bunch of people to ramp up healthcare, than hire a bunch more to tear it down. Kinda like hiring one crew to dig a hole and another to fill it back in. It's the 2011 dem job bonanza!

Re: March for health care!
Honestly, they should have put in a clause that says, if you dont want the healthcare, then you can opt out. But they only open enrollment every 5 years. And if you dont have insurance or the money to pay for the work being done UP FRONT, you simply dont get the care needed. PERIOD.
Which it then would be very funny when all of these republicans opt out, And then complain about how they cant get a doctor when they get sick because they dont have health insurance. I will laugh. The people wanted a universal healthcare system, but then bitch when they are told they will have to pay for it. I welcome the universal healthcare for the simple reason that if another recession happens and im out of a job for 2 years or so, i would like to know that if i get a horrible disease, i dont want to go bankrupt trying to pay for it. But like ive said before, with the greedy, self centered people in this country, it will never happen the way it should. Everyone thinking for themself instead of others. im out of this thread and could really give two fucks what any of you really think when it comes to politics. You have all proven this many times that you done give a flying fuck about this countries people as a whole. |
