El Rodeo in Maple Grove tonight, 730pm.

*edit* I see others are talking Champs? Umm, whatever I guess. Mark and I are going to el rodeo. I don't want these meets to fall apart but I work so much I can't keep track of who's meeting where/when anymore. This shit always happens, we need to find a place to meet and a day and just stick to it. Not sure what else to say.

We made suggestions, discussed this over for the last week in this thread and the Tuesday thread, did it in a pretty civil and mature manner, and came up with what we felt was the most fair decision for everyone in the end to avoid conflict or divided meets.

I'm not sure what else to say also, except why bring the negative attitude into this now last minute? Lets just continue trying to be adults about this.

I'm still in for Champps, like was discussed over the last week. This is purely my opinion, but the NW corner of the TC freeway loop is simply not very centralized to ALL of those who would like to come out to a meet. And is a contributing factor to why many of us simply don't make it out much anymore. So to try and boost showings at this sites meets (your website Scheidesie) we are trying to get it a little more centralized. That's it.

Be happy :)

So count me in for Champps in New Brighton still. I'll aim to be there around 7:00.

Ok sorry guys. Mark txt'd me last night about el rodeo, no idea, I didn't bother to scroll back in this thread to see the Champs stuff, sorry about that. I already told mark I'd meet him at el rodeo and I literally just got shit on at work and have to work tonight too, so idk if I'll even be able to go anywhere. Sorry for the confusion.

Back on top, Champps in New Brighton 7:00 PM.

I am unsure if I'll make it, but look for two goofy white guys and a little asian chick.

Run over a couple hicks while screaming praise allah then use their bodies for weight over the rear tires..... or get sandbags.

I'm going to do El Rodeo tonight, simply because I've to DB, then to Brooklyn Center, then Lakeville, then back to BC, now home, and then have to drive somewhere for the meet. If not given a choice I'd still go to Champps, but I'm pretty burned out on driving right now.

Dang, good luck, that's a little bit of power. Scheides was kindof right about the meets jumping around all the time. The GV old applebees location, if it's a restaurant again, should be the spot. It was always the best, but methinks the days of 50 people and all the shops representing 10 knives deep for a weekly meet are over. So sad, perhaps with some uber organization, one could plan a large meet like that but it'd have to be way out to make sure everyone could make it. And none of this 7pm weaksauce. 9 pm or no pm.

^7pm does kinda suck, but some do work early. Also I think those days are over at least until spring maybe.

I made it there at about 8pm, took 30 mins from boyer trucks parking lot in Savage.

Good time, great laughs.

I dunno what that means. But yeah we got there at about 7:05 and Matt D. was already there with a table. And Peter and Nina showed up just after us. Then brownman and his wife. Then followed mlomker and shane.

Not a bad little group turned out, good times :) I think their patio would be awesome come summer time. Bingo was fun except for the fact nobody won, haha. Good seeing Shane out too!

I'm going to look into Joe Sensor's, see if free bingo is on Wednesday. If so that'd be amazing!!

As for the time, 9pm sucks for those of us that wake up early. We could maybe try bumping it back a little, like 730 for starters next week?

I think it was more aimed at happy hour.

I also stopped by and walked though twice at 7:30 and didn't see anyone.

Re: Old Chicago - every Weds @ 8pm in Plymouth

I was calling them as I walked in, and I saw them so said "shut it I see you."

If you look forward when you walk, as you go thru the first door look thru the giant window and you would of seen B man.
Turn up later and you would of seen another B man.

Nice little spot.

We were near the patio underneath the TV. Maybe next time I'll post up my number so anyone who cant find us can text one of us and we can tell u where we are at exactly??

My cell is 612 384-1425. If anyone ever shows up and can't find us, just call or text. If I'm there I'll let you know where we are at.

It's funny how the people who the meet location inconveniences the most are the ones bitching about it "moving all the time". I've driven to meets on the west side for who knows how long and never once complained, that's nearly an hour in the car on a weeknight. The least you guys (you, Spaz, anyone else that has thrown a fit over this) could do is show a little courtesy and lenience for once.

Re: Old Chicago - every Weds @ 8pm in Plymouth

I was just upset because of how confusing this has gotten + the fact that some people were dropping out because it was too far out of their way. I know I'm an exception but we're very lucky to live in such a small city. Driving 30 minutes to hang out with friends shouldn't be a hard thing to swallow. Either you do it or stop bitching about it, when I'm too busy I don't make it but I don't bitch about it.

This shit where we're changing the time and location every week is worse than anything else I think. Back in the day when it was applebees and just applebees we had good turnouts because people knew where and when to be there no matter what. I think someone should own up to making sure everyone knows where/when it is.

A few solutions I see to make it easy on people. If we stick with the thread approach, which is somewhat irritating and hard to follow. The person designated to the task once everyone is done bitching about where it is responds with a post with red bold text of the location and time. The other option would be if EVERYONE was on facebook we could join 2008 and make a fan page for mitsustyle and create events for everyweek, but obviously that won't work.

Shawn you knew we were going to be there, you have my number and brandons I assume, why didnt you call?

When I got there I didnt see matt or brandon right away, so I asked the hostess where Matt was seated. Communication goes both ways...

I dont get how all you people that are complaining about moving around can say anything at all? In the summer we go to Porkys and Wagners, but no one complains about that. lol

Also the title of this thread is OC, but yet scheides complained we moved to Chammps this week, yet he goes to El rodeo? lol umm pot meet kettle guys.

Also good laughs for sure last night. :) Patty matty you should get the stroganoff next time.

Re: Old Chicago - every Weds @ 8pm in Plymouth

Complaining? I'm complaining about people switching it within 24 hours of damn meet, this includes Scheides. You can get an attitude with me but we'll see how far that goes son. All I'm trying to do is make it easier for people to fucking go to the right place at the right time. This was constructive criticism and if you would read my damn post again you would see I'm on your side. If you guys want to get all creative and shit and change the meet every fucking week lets make it easier for people to know where to go and when.

Halon 11-18-2010 12:11 PM

Re: Old Chicago - every Weds @ 8pm in Plymouth

Applebee's not only worked because it was always the same spot, but because it wasn't in the NW corner of the twin cities loop also. It's gotten to the point where most of us in the northern area simply stopped going because it's too long of a drive during the week.

We are trying to speak up, and fix that, in a civil and mature manner. So lets try to keep it that way.

I thought the area we went to last night was much more centralized. Mlomker and Shane probably had the longest drive as they were coming from DB, but that was was maybe a 20min drive for you guys? Most everyone else was probably anywhere from 5-15min drive.

That's it. Just trying to find something more centralized. That's it!!!

I don't see what the big deal is. I don't go to meets every week but I can confidently say I know when and where the meet is every week regardless. Also, saying the meet changes EVERY week is far from the truth, considering some weeks there isn't a meet because no one is interested even when it was at OC week after week.

Any person who takes on the job of being "meet coordinator" will be hated. You can't please everyone, any location/day/time that is not convenient for someone will instantly receive ridicule. Who wants to deal with that?

Last night we went somewhere new and still had 9 people show up. If that's so bad then please PLEASE show me where the problem lies.

Re: Old Chicago - every Weds @ 8pm in Plymouth

Maybe we need to edit the title of the thread to just Wed. night meets: check last post/page for info. and like DC said when the person sees the bolded & colored info they will know where the group is going and then scheides can make a post on where he is going

I had to drive 30 mins from savage, still less time more fun than driving from blaine to plymouth.

Haha what attitude Shawn? You are the only one that seems pissed because you came in looking for people and then left without trying to get ahold of anyone. lol

This was talked about a week ago from tuesday, I thought we all agreed on Chammps... Scheides didnt see that and edited his post yesterday.

Re: Weekly meet thread - Read the last page for info!

So, what should next week be then? Lets figure it out ahead of time again, and get it put up in red bold letters to ease all the tension!

Couple ideas...

-Champps New Brighton
-Aculpolco New Brighton
-Joe Sensers Roseville

And maybe a Mod can simply change the title of this thread to something like
Wednesday night meets - Check last page for time/loc

might be a good start?

DoughtCom 11-18-2010 12:20 PM

Re: Weekly meet thread - Read the last page for info!

The problem lies in the fact that I am usually leaving work or like last night and most nights going forward I'll be leaving my GF's house because of the location (WHICH IS FINE I COULD CARE LESS WHERE IT IS) and will have to look it up on my phone.

I'm just trying to make it easier on people to find where it is, that is all. If we're changing not only the location every week but also the time I just wish it was easier for people to find out where it is, especially when everyone is posting in this thread with their opinion.

A//// Guy 11-18-2010 12:23 PM

Re: Weekly meet thread - Read the last page for info!

I dont remember us ever changing a meet location the night of. Typically people post up about the meet a day or 2 ahead of time if its typical OC or the routine, but when we mix things up we try to decide a week in advance.

I vote sensors next week.

Halon 11-18-2010 12:24 PM

Re: Weekly meet thread - Read the last page for info!

I like your bold red idea. So when it's decided where the meet will be, whoever just post it up in big red bold letters, maybe include the date for clarity.

Would that help?
