Another thing, how much driving to people want to do once we get to Duluth? The full route I am looking at is a 4 hour round trip out of Duluth, but that may be too much for some so let me know.

I'm up for whatever. I've never been there, so I'd like to see the big highlights of what Duluth has to offer (no, not the bars) ;)

Gooseberry Falls is nice, if even just to spend a half hour walking around the rocks and taking pictures. Could even get a group picture of us. Other than that I'd rather be driving no matter how boring the roads may be.

Kracka 04-09-2007 02:39 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Sounds good guys, we'll make a stop as Gooseberry for a quick sight-see of the waterfalls and some group pictures.

Yea, definitely want to stop by goosberry, I haven't been there in like 20 years!

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Not looking to burst a fun bubble for anyone but as it stands right now I don't see myself driving the 6 up that weekend. Sat calls for a few snow showers and temps in the 30s. I'm not going to put snow tires back on for one more weekend. Time to pimp the Prisim! :D :spin: WOOT! LOL

Matt D. 04-09-2007 04:25 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

My snow tires will most likely remain on for the week given the current forecast and the fact that we are heading north.

AJ 04-09-2007 04:27 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Yeah, I jumped the gun and changed my out during the heat wave a while ago. I really wish I had them on for this weekend, but more so I really hope we get some better weather. Oh well, could be worse, I could be rolling with the top down in a Sex2K.

Kracka 04-09-2007 04:37 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Still almost a week away, forecasts seem to change daily so I'm not worried yet. Eitherway, I'll have my hat on so top-down cruising will be fine!

Kracka 04-09-2007 04:42 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Does anyone who is coming still need a room or a place to sleep? If so, now is the time to speak up.

AJ, you big sissie! We'll be in the M with summer tires on, at least you have AWD!

Kracka 04-09-2007 04:53 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

The S will be there wearing its summer (and only) tires.

I just confirmed with Archer and everything is a go for Saturday. The shop will be open for us to meet at and check out.

People are going to back out, that's how it is when you tell everyone to book a room early no matter what even if you don't know if you can go. Hope you come though Swanny.

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Summer tires ftw! Mine do pretty well in these cold temps, its the snow/ice I have to worry about.. lol

I have a poolside room that could be up too, as I might crash in another room. Let me know peoples.

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

It's only a 30% chance of snow showers on Sat and nice on Sun. Looks fine to me!

No way I am spending the night, I might hitch a ride up there. It really comes down to how this weekend goes. We are overbooked with too many track days coming up.

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

I wont be cruising this weekend I dont think. The stealth is down still so I took a shift on saturday. I am still down for cruising friday night in my dsm and partying it up with u guys and showing the city of duluth to people though.

Let me know what you're doing with your room. I'll pay for all of it if you don't spend the night.

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Alright, here is the plan for Sat!

-Meet at the Menards in Fridley on Central/Hwy 65 and 694 at 9am
-Leave for Duluth at 9:30am SHARP, we will not wait for stragglers this time
-694 east to 35W north to 35 then get off on 23 just north of Hinkley and take that to Duluth where it hooks back up with 35
-We will get off 35 on Mesaba Ave, follow that up the hill, then turn left onto Central Entrance
-On Central I will lead us all to a BP gas station and then to Wendy's to pick up some food (feel free to stop elsewhere if you want)
-Continue out Central to Haines Road and turn right
-Turn right onto Airpark Blvd.
-Turn left onto Ventura Ave. and Archer will be on your left side

We'll plan to be at Archer's until about 2pm so feel free to eat at the fast food place of your choice or do drive-thru and bring it to Archers and eat there. On Central Entrance there is a Burger King, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Taco John's, and Wendy's. Once we gas up at BP everyone is on their own for getting food and then getting to Archer (like I said, I'll lead the way to Wendy's if you choose to eat there) so bring these directions and my cell # (763) 257-4504 in case you get lost.

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

My internet is so bad here. I waited 5 minutes to get on the e85 site and I can't. If I can't make it to Duluth on one tank of E85, I'm going to have to stop somewhere to get it.

Kracka 04-10-2007 04:31 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

You'll be able to make it, but if you fear you won't for some reason, a station in Hinkley (about half way to Duluth) sells E85.

scheides 04-10-2007 04:37 PM

Re: Spring Cruise, April 14-15, 2007, Duluth Weekend!

Brandon, I have an extra 5-gallon drum that was filled with Alky that you could use to fill up with E85 just in case. It's empty, sealed, and sitting in my garage. Say the word & I'll bring it with! Or you can swing by & pick it up. :D

I won't make it. Gotta work Sat, and my car's still inbetween setups, so it's running rough.

You should come, if you can't find an open hotel room, I'm sure someone will have a spare bed or floor space.

Maybe he means Home Depot on University and 694.

We'll see if I'm up for a drive. I might see if some Duluth kids are up there and party/crash at their place.

We'll be at Archer's until about 2pm then we'll head out on our next leg of the journey. We'll be heading north on 61 up the shore, stopping and Gooseberry, and then continuing north for a bit. Its a lot of driving so we'll play it by ear depending on weather, what people want to do, etc.
