Nice combo of parts!

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Hah, didn't even notice the springs!
I'm up for a big install once it warms up a bit :) |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Man nice pile of upgrades you have there! When you bring the car down for the belt investigation, bring down the rest, most of that stuff should be an easy install.

I can't wait to get all this stuff installed. So many little things I have neglected...time to do them. |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Spent about 30 mins yesterday unraveling serp belt from one of my pulley's. Then I grabbed my battery off the tender, threw it in the car and it fired right up! Yay.
It's ready to go to Shawns place this Saturday to figure out WTF is up with the pulley's and put a new belt on. Can't wait to start having fun with it again. |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
So I have been eyeing a gopro hero2 big time lately. But instead landing on this:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6/2a0fe873.jpg God, spending over $100 on center caps...ugh. |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Don't wheels come with hub caps? You should have gone to the junkyard and gotten some ones that fit off an old car.
|
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Pretty sure you won't find RPF-1 "hub caps" in a junkyard.
|
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Dave,
Those look really nice. Are those caps alloy or plastic? Looking for some replacement caps for the rota's since the plastic rota caps melted and fell off the last time at the track. Whoops! |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
$100 on center caps ftl, I'm not looking forward to buying some.
They'll look nice though! |

As for mine, I am quite certain they are metal of some kind. I looked at them for about two seconds last night when I got home. I am going to throw them on today after work so I will confirm then. I'll have them on when I come over this weekend, so you can see if you like them. Quote:

Shawn, looks like these are metal. They are so light I am guessing aluminum? Shit if I know haha :)
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...6/0a918edc.jpg Anyway, put insurance back on the car yesterday...gonna go cruising tonight after bowling. Probably just around the block as I don't want to rape the serp belt any more than needed so I can drive it to Shawns this weekend. |
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Sounds like a blower car with all this talk of belt trouble.
|
Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
it went through two belts in like 300-400 miles :( It's lame. Stupid problem, but if that is my worst problem I am alright with it. Damn DSM's I tell ya.

I tried being proactive and changing them while the motor was out...it backfired. DSM's don't have problems? I know my car does. |

Its just annoying people can't do things correctly and blame it on the car. That's nuts they use plastic OEM, where do you get metal ones? some company made them? are they lightweight or overdrive? Good thing being proactive, it could save you from being stuck on teh side of the road. :drive1: |
