Paintless Dent Repair (plus clearbras and touch-up painting)

Does anyone have experience with local PDR guys/shops? Nothing major, just some slight hail damage on one car and a door ding on another. It would be great to have someone come right to the house, but its not necessary. I appreciate everyones recommendations in advance, thanks.

*update*
I have set up a group rate with Dent Kraft Plus in Plymouth, MN. They do amazing work as you'll read/see in this thread. They give free estimates with no appointment needed since it'll only take a few minutes. When you drop your car off to be repaired you will generally have it back the same or next day. When you go in please let Don or Jake know you are with Chris Hughes' group.

There is a guy on TCStangs that does it and people seem happy with his work. Search it on there and you will find more than one thread where he responds.

I've got two guys that do it. Both are reasonable. Hughes, shoot me an email Monday at work and I'll get you their names.

Re: Paintless Dent Repair

We should get a group together and see if we can get a group rate. I know a few guys that did this before.

Word on the group rate. I have 2 cars that could use a bit of dent repair.

Kracka 06-18-2006 02:16 PM

Re: Paintless Dent Repair

Definitely, we should organize a big group event and make a day out of it. We could grill and all that good stuff too. Hopefully Craig talks to his neighbor and I'll get some info from Steve regarding his two guys.

There was a guy that did a group PDR day for mnsport ricers. Word has it he's pretty much one of the best in the cities. He did a phenomenal job on my 1g, he comes highly recommended. If you're interested I can get more info about him.

About how much does this normally cost??

Just a ballpark??

$200? $1500?

thanks!

Re: Paintless Dent Repair

I think I heard it's regularly something like $50 or $100 per panel. Rather cheap if you have a couple of dents in a single panel.

I know a club that got a group rate of $40 for the first panel and like $20 added for each panel after that.

I had a family company do a dent before for me. The shop was by anderson cadillac and he did a really good job, was nice and priced well. It sounds like you will find someone else on here though.

Most places charge 50 per panel. Group rates are usually a little better than that but 50 is a good price either way.

For those that dont want to wait for a group rate to show up I would suggest going to a larger used car lot. They usually have a traveling PDR guy show up every couple of weeks to do their cars and never have a problem with letting others get worked on too. I know Burnsville Honda does this in their used car lot.

Re: Paintless Dent Repair

I talked to my buddy who did a group PDR and he said it cost $50 plus $25 per panel. He didn't remember where he got it done but I'll look around.

Everyone copy/paste this and post up your name and car ONLY IF YOU ARE 100% SERIOUS ABOUT DOING THIS! I don't want any maybes or probablys on this list...if either of those words describe you keep your name off until you are positive one way or the other.

I don't want to say "IN" or "OUT" because I don't know the rate yet. If it's good I'm in hbt.

Re: Paintless Dent Repair

Im assuming we get the rate once we know how many cars are "for sure."

I still have to talk to a guy I know that might be able to do a group thing, so once I know then ill post up rates or if Im in for sure.

it sounds like the guy who did the MNSC day doesnt usually do this kind of stuff during the summer because he's too busy, but i'm checkintg with him anyway.

I am in for sure as long as the price is decent. If not I will buy a Pops-a-dent off the infomercial! :D

This died, and now I swing it back into life. I need one dent worked on and would like to get a referral to someone who knows what they are doing.

Would also be down for a group rate.

Re: Paintless Dent Repair

There is a great shop on Hwy 55 just east of 494 in Plymouth, expensive muscle cars and other nice cars get shipped there from all over the country. They do not do mobile service. My dad's car was repaired there twice last summer (2 separate hail storms) and both times it came out perfect and under the insurance estimated price.
