Re: 3400hp of turbo's
What's the new claim?
Good power levels on pump gas :). |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
you shoulda gone dual open wg..pull a cher n run it through the front bumper..that way, whomever is next to you on a race, will be deaf by the end..(not a slam against cher's car at all, cause it was rather fun this summer, and the reaction that "hole" got)

Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Man, all this talk about Cher's car and I've never seen it. Where have I been! :(. Anyone have any vids of his car?
Those turbos look fricken huge. Seems like I could stick my fist in it :D. Can't wait to see the beast! |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Fricking turbo's dont fit in the engine bay.
I think I figured out a way, but I get to use a 2g dsm fuse box now :). |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Doh.
|
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Well they fit, just going to be fun manifold routing.
|
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Just cut the shit out you don't need. Like fenders.
|
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
What are you using for manifolds?
|
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Custom manifolds. 304 stainless thicker wall (over .100").

Have any pictures of the turbo's in your engine bay swanny?

321 stainless is the perferred material, but is very very expensive to work with. A think wall 304 that is thermal coated will be more than fine in this application (remember, this is still my car that I have to fund). Most manifolds on the market are mild steel flanges that are welded to thick wall 304 or mild steel runners. Then they are thermal coated to keep in heat and help protect against rust (mild steel applications). Stainless flanges tend to expand and shear off headstuds, and 321ss is not cheap to get machined, cut, or just to work with. Quote:

Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Clean up that engine bay dammit! ;)
|
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Im waiting for my 2g dsm fuse box to finish wiring....
That is just a mock-up motor, not the real thing (aka I can weld to it, get it dirty, drop it, I don't care). |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Your engine bay is still dirty! Motor or not...
Looking sweet though, cant wait to see even further progress! |

Hush, it'll be blinging when its done. Its a work in progress. |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
So who's motor is it that your using as a mock up?...hehehe j/k.
Looking good. |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
Spare shop pos with a few of my parts and a few ryan's.
Random post below. http://www.lse-performance.com/galle...waeet_copy.jpg cool photochop with a carbon fiber hood, window tint, cornerlight blackout, and hyperblack 5 zigens. |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
I don't like it. Paint the hood blue and keep the tint less. looks more like a stock car then. (sleeper)
|
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
It probably won't be tinted, he was fucking around with it. I'll be running the carbon fiber hood eventually. It'll probably have plenty of miles of regular hood, just comes down to the fact of (when I get to that point) mods...

One down one to go.
http://www.lse-performance.com/galle...0009.sized.jpg http://www.lse-performance.com/galle...0010.sized.jpg http://www.lse-performance.com/galle...0011.sized.jpg Its just tacked together, but already supports the weight of the turbo :). We'll mock-up the front one now, then the downpipes/o2 housings. Weld it all together, and rip that motor back out. Then its time to finish up the real thing and put it in. |

One more for shits and giggles. |

I know that. I was just refering to the carbon fiber hood, IMO I would like to see it painted blue or something that is mostly blue with maybe some carbon showing. (ie: a design of some sort) anyrate it's your car do what you want. It's going to freeking hall ass and look good regardless. Also I notice your intake is also on the side of the turbo's. won't the heat from the back turbo heat up the intake being so close? also how is the intercooller piping going to be run? won't it hit the hood or are you going to clock the housing or something? I'm sure you have it worked out. I'm just curious/anxious I guess to see the finished product. |
Re: 3400hp of turbo's
I had a nightmare about that stupid fuze block last night LOL

Re: 3400hp of turbo's

The rear compressor cover is how it is, we'll have to pull it off and run a 90 off it. The intercooler piping is already figured out. The back turbo being where it is a concern for the intake stream. The upper pipe will be polished, then heat wrapped, LOL! That is a Q45 90mm throttle body, and we'll be running a 3" intake to it. There is enough room to clear the turbo (barely), but again, it is a very tight squeeze. These basterds just don't fit! I could have moved them more forward and down, but that huge throttlebody has thrown a kink in the system. The turbo's will be shielded and Jet hot coated, along with the manifolds. I am already running AN06 water lines for the turbos as well as AN oil feed and drain. Even my heater core will be damm near hardpiped to the motor. I am trying to move as much stuff away from the turbo's as possible. The front turbo now is the pita. We had to relocate the fuse box, run slim fans, and cut off my shiftercable counter weight in order for us to think its going to work. The reason I am not worrying about stuff "Moving" is the chrome moly front and rear SOLID motor mounts that will be going in. Justin- Me too! |
