We will be holding a poker tournament at our house on friday nite. We will decide on tournament method the nite of the event. Please post in this thread only once if you are going to come out. You don't necessarily have to post to join us but it would be helpful to know how many will be coming.

Here are the basics:

$20 buy in
Registration open until 7:45pm
Game play begins at 8pm sharp!!!!
Play continues until one person has all the chips.
Person at the end of the nite that has all chips will receive the entire pot.

If there is any need to discuss these rules or any other items that you might be concerned with, please do so in this post.

Directions:

Coming from the north:
1. Take 35W or 35E south to County Rd 42.
2. Take a left on County Rd. 42.
3. Go down to County Rd 11.
4. Take a left on County Rd. 11.
5. Go down County Rd. 11 to McAndrews Rd (County Rd 38) and take a right.
6. Go to the first road on the right and take a right (echo park lane).
7. Go to the first main parking lot on the right (Echo Park Terrace) and turn right.

Our townhome number is 13840. If you can find a parking spot in the lot, take it (as long as it's not in front of a garage). If they are all filled, you will have to park on the street. The street is visible from our windows and not more than 75 feet away from our door. You will see our Talons in front of our door (one red 1g and one maroon 1g).

Coming from the south:
1. Take 35 north to 35E North.
2. Go to County Rd 42 and take a right.
3. Continue on with the rest from number 3 above.

Anywhere else, pm me and I'll give you specific directions from where you are. If you want to do a mapquest search, the address is 13840 Echo Park Terrace, Burnsville 55337.

I think we should split up the pot a bit though, depending on how many people are there. If only a few people play, than yeah, give it all to the winner. But if we have more than say, 5 people, then I think it should be split up.

Any more than 10-12 people (2 tables) and you will have to set some sort of timelimit.

If there are alot of people we will have to have a few tables. I think we should draw cards to see what table you should go to. Then every hour we have a short break, raise the blinds, and draw cards again for a new table to sit at.

I have the kitchen table that can seat atleast 5-6, plus a card table that can seat at least 4. If anyone else has a card table they can bring with them, do it. I will be going to my mother's house tonite so i can look there as well. I think she has a few also.

I have a poker table top, which will allow 8 people to sit at one table. It has chip holders and cup holders too. Don't have any chairs though... I do have cards and a few hundred bicycle chips.

So should I get some more people or are we good?

Will that table top sit on top of a card table? I am going to try to find the leaf for the kitchen table so we can fit more people in there.

Yeah it sits on any table, and I can get up to 5 more if you want...That is if they aren't busy.

I think we have 6-7 confirmed players with 2-3 maybes. I would say Ok. We have enough room for about 15 or so in the house. Our place is kinda small but most of us will be around tables most of the night. If we had a quiet, powerful space heater, we could setup some tables in the garage. But I don't really see that happening.

I will now be there. Nash, you're not gonna get my money as easy this time around...

Anytime after 5:30pm is fine. I will be home around that time. Terina usually gets home a little earlier than that but I don't want to take the chance.

Great time! Eight people showed up to play and a couple people showed up that didn't play, that I don't now.

Started out with two tables, 4 people per table. If I remember right this is how it went in order of getting knocked out, and by who.

niterydr (Swanny) was the 1st to get knocked out, not sure by who. DSMStyle (Allan) I think knocked him out.
Then Raptor (Mike) and CUSTOMDSM (Craig) were knocked out at about the same time. Raptor by E*Thug (Mark). I'm not sure who knocked out CUSTOMDSM.
After this we moved to one table with five people. xrtdac (Tyler) was the 1st one gone at the final table. Knocked out by me. E*Thug was the next gone, knocked out by me. awd1dr (Eric) was the next to go, knocked out by me, I think.

So it was down to DSMStyle and my self. I had a huge chip lead at the time. He went all in blind, didn't even look at his cards, and I called. I showed a queen jack, he had pocket nine's. The flop came with a queen, and that was all I needed to win.

Yes a blast it was. Next time no cell phones at the tables. LOL Great time though ladies and gents. I can't wait for the next round. I played pretty conservative and didn't bluff much at all. When I had the cards I played them.

Thanks guys for coming over. We had a blast. I can't believe I made it to the top 3!!!! At that point i had only a few chips left and had to really watch what I did. But it was fun anyways. Congrats Andy!!!! I'll be getting some of that money back, though, next time. I hope we do this again soon. I just wish we would've had a little more space a few more chairs. But we had plenty of booze!!!!! :toast:

Actually erik knocked me out, i called him on all in, and he had a larger straight, guess thats how the cards go sometimes. I had fun, just got to work on keeping my playing conserative and try to keep my 'bank roll' longer.
It was fun, i'll probably be down next time.

Congrats to Andy for winning, he played very well! Allan did his best to restore some QPR dignity after Josh and I went out early :headache: Had fun hanging out with everyone else as well.
