I guess my dream is real because that's my fingers in the picture....

But for real I really feel as if I'm dreaming.

Nice to see parts coming together. That's a nice turbo, I'm glad you stepped your goals down a bit.

Wow, nice man! I'm still saving up for a turbo, still not sure which one though! ViciousGSX suggested for me to grab a .50 trim! Good luck man!

Looks great just keep in mind you can just slap the parts on and expect it all to work the way they are designed. It will take a lot of tuning and support mods. Please tell me you have fuel related mods coming or even a new manifold (porting maybe).

Don't worry I know what I'm doing.

Still looking, but waiting for low priced one to fly by too since I don't want to be price raped.

My other T3 GT35R might be capable of 600whp on the RIGHT setup but not that one. I got it hoping for around 500whp.

Haha, selling off the gsx to fund the evo. It is inevitable for all EVO owners.

So whats next for the EVO?

Jakey has one. It is no $100 ebay special but it is priced at what it is worth.

Its nice to see that you are buying parts, and getting closer to your goal. Just dont up the boost to much on that stock 7 bolt, it will not end up good.

Swifty1638 09-06-2006 11:46 AM

Re: I must be dreaming! a turbo

meh, up it all you want. The 7 bolt will go anyway. Stock, or not.

Yea, people have only made 550+ on the stock 7-bolt and the just as weak Evo motor.

That's for the referral Tim and I apologize for not updating my FS thread but the ECU is sold. It went to Canada a couple of weeks ago.

Funny. I have bought 2 off ebay that were listed very poorly for dirt cheap and sold them for a good chunk of change to people in Canada.

I cant believe you sold it to a Canuck. Did they pay you in canadian money or US funds?

With current exchange rates and the weak US$ is there any difference? ;)

Re: I must be dreaming! a turbo

If I remember correctly, the GT35RLE is the Mitsu style exhaust housing. If so, the exhaust side will be the "choke-off" point of the set-up. Quicker spool-up in return though.

slowbubblecar 09-06-2006 11:45 PM

Re: I must be dreaming! a turbo

It is the one one with the mistu exhaust housing. It is a complete bolt on. Stock manifold and 02 housing work for it. You surprisingly don't even need a spacer plate to clear the water pipe with it.

It's not clearing the water pipe. I had to bang the water pipe alittle for it to fit but it's so damn close to the block the compressor housing is touching the block drain bolt not even a peice of paper can slide in between. I hope I didn't make a puncture on the water pipe :(

what's a good fix if I did?

Replace and heat to bend. If you moved it enough to have a leak then it's starving already. (smashed shut)

YiNYaNg 09-07-2006 09:23 AM

Re: I must be dreaming! a turbo

It's only about 1/8 banged in for the compressor housing to fit. I'm more worried that the 2 braces which I had to flatten doesn't cause any leaks.

scheides 09-07-2006 09:32 AM

Re: I must be dreaming! a turbo

Weird. I had no fitment issues on my car. I wouldn't worry about it, but if it does leak, put a little jbweld over the spot that leaks and let it cure overnight. I did this on my 1G and it saved my ass, and looked fairly clean as well (read: don't use too much!).

YiNYaNg 09-07-2006 10:51 AM

Re: I must be dreaming! a turbo

I was thinking the same thing JB Weld it if it leaks
