Got Another Ticket...Window Tint
 

Well this is really shitty, first my car gets going and then breaks down within the same hour and then today I get a laim ass ticket for of all things, window tint. The cop also said that I turned on a no turn on red but I never even seen the sign there.

Who else is with me that at least for us car guys that the window tint law is pointless. I mean even the cop cars are getting tinted very dark now but we cant? This is bull shit. Has anyone delt with a tint ticket besides paying it?

Laws are laws... you took that risk when you got them tinted. Yours look atleast 20% or darker from you sig. I just got 35% and love it and havent got pulled over for it yet. Drive with your windows down so its not as noticable.

This was on my truck and if they dont want us having it then why can they and why is it sold here then. Thats the stupidest thing I have ever delt with. I already took the shit off of my car.

Your complaining to much. Could just be what I'm thinking though. If the tint was on the truck and it was to dark then there's nothing to say. Some people tint their cars for personal preferance and just pay the tickets as they get them.

If you need tints for medical reason. You could get it legally. Other wise you can't.
Cops are always known for eating donuts and drinking coffee. This way, if they have tinted windows, they can eat and drink it without people knowing.

I have 35% tint on the S2k and if I get pulled over and ticketed yeah it'll suck, but meh, I knew it was illegal and am prepared to deal with it as such. I personally think tints darker than 50% should be allowed by law on all vehicles, not just trucks, vans, and SUV's, but I am sure it is also one of the laws that will never be repealed since its such an easy money-maker for the state.

There is other illegal stuff and you are complaining about tint? Wtf is wrong with you man. Yes its a law...deal with it. And no it wont go away. Atleast they don't pull you over for lift kits or body scraping low cars. Just face it ya it sucks for that but you knew you can get a ticket. So if you hate the law. Obay by it.

You tinted them past the legal limit, and now are whining about the outcome. It's like driving over the speed limit and then bitching about a speeding ticket.
My thoughts on the law are, yes it's a stupid law, but it is a law and if you knowingly break the law you shouldn't be suprised when they bust you on it.

At least they didn't make you remove it there on the spot like they did to my buddy.

If you are curious how it looks like stop by any tint shop and they will show u. Most will tell you it not worth it.

If you get it removed then they drop the ticket. I have gotten pulled over about 9 times for tint and have 3 tint tickets under my belt(I have "17%"). Paid 2 of them and got 1 droped. It sucks but now I hate riding in cars without it. With the tint I feel like I can do anything and noone can see me.

On my new spectra5 I had 15% put on all the back windows and 50% on the front two. Have not been pulled over but it could be consider a wagon. GO KIA

I've been thinking about getting my windows tinted also, but with chances of getting a ticket. I think I'll wait till I have more cash laying around :D.

I have 20% in the front, 5% in the back, whenever I pick up radar or laser on the detector I roll them down. Got pulled over once and they commented on the back, but that's it. In Iowa they never even commented on the back windows. But I guess that's the risk I take for having them that way.

This shit scares me, its like a matter of time till i get pulled over, but if its not dark then it sucks.
I had 35% tint in my old integra and it was cool, but too see thru, my buddy has 20% on his mustang, but i think that 15% is what black cars should get, now i don't know. Fuck.

Not much you can do but I feel for you. It's a lame F'ing law (that and front plates tick me off) and one of the reasons I hate this state's government. They need to start going threw all the current laws and cutting out the BS that oversteps what a government is here for instead of continue to come up with more crap. Next week at the elections I'm not voting for ANY incumbent's. Time to flush and start over.

This law is pretty lame.
But its also a safety one too.

I'd only go up to 35% If you go 50%, its not really worth it. 50% is like nothing.

Yeah, cops also get to shoot people, and speed when they have their sirens on, and have dogs bite people.

They get to do a lot of shit we don't, so just deal with it. It sucks, but saying "cops can do it, so we should be able to too" is about the weakest argument ever.
