The SR System is gone and no longer in use. After many nights of tryign to figure out what he got himself into, Chris has worked all sorts of wonders getting this new system up and ready for use. So hop on over and give it a try.

Vendors are ready to go as well with their own sections (some tweaking is still being done onthese).


Please use this thread to post up any problems or bugs (spelling errors as well) you may comes across. Also use this thread for suggestions on Categories.

A hack for getting new ads to appear as new threads is in the works by the main vB guys, and we will be placing a random image block on varios parts of the site as well.

I want to re-iterate how sorry I am/we are for putting that POS SR Classifieds section in place. It had several good features, but in the end they were really shyte. It was in an effort to improve the site, make it more community friendly. So, if anyone is super upset over it, well, I'll buy you a beer or something. But, you have to say to my face that you (truthfully) cannot stand the new system, and that the old SR Classifieds system was way better. :)

How do I view replies to my ad? I got an email notifying me of a reply, yet I don't see it.

As of right now it looks like we have to approve the comments for public view and thus reply, I'm looking for the settings on that one.

Also is there a way to make it so we don't get an email on replys we make reguarding our own ad? Just a thought. It is tolerable though.

The new Classifieds look GREAT! I went to post up my EMS for sale but I wasnt real sure where to put it. Id suggest putting an electronics section in. Just a thought. But otherwise the new site and the classifieds are awsome!!

New classifieds look nice. I guess I personally don't like all the sections. in the Parts For Sale section. If I have an SAFC, some shocks, a clutch, and some body parts laying aorund I want to sell, I have to make like 3 or 4 different adds, and figure out where to place them. I'd think a Parts Wanted, and Parts For Sale would be enough seperation, but that's just my .02.

As for the sections, yeah that will take some adjustment I think. We can probably skim them down (just inactivate a few) but as the traffic grows and more ads are placed we will probably have even more sections than we do now. The classifieds are already generating a shit ton of traffic due to the new setup as well.

Also, we need poeple to start leaving some feedback using the system. it won't work as needed if we don't use this step. So try giving some feedback and if you have any issues, post them up.

I thought with the new system, the classifieds adds were going to show up when we hit New Posts, if there's new classifieds stuff? It doesn't do that for me.

Can people start using the Feedback system. I've yet to see someone post any feedback. To do so just go to the ad you bought an item thorugh and click the users name. You should be abel to enter feedback in the very next screen.

Classified are broken.

I receive emails that someone has responded, yet no responses are displayed. I have no idea what people want. When the classifieds were a forum, it was so much nicer. People could reply, they showed up under New Posts.

Agreed. Nobody seems to have any idea where to put ads. There looks to be a part out in the misc. WTB section. It makes it tough to find anything. I posted a reply to an ad and it didnt show up. So I clicked on the users profile and sent a message. Instead of saying 'Message sent' or whatever it said "This post will be reported to a moderator....etc." So does that mean the guy is going to get my message? Or is something broken and the messages are being re-routed elsewhere? I finally just used a PM.
At least when they were in thread format you could see them with 'new posts' even when they were misplaced. You could find things more easily and talk directly to the seller on the open forum, where if you had a specific question about something being sold, maybe someone else could chime in. "Feedback" is always iffy too. Nobody wants to leave bad feedback even if the transaction was a PITA. If its a forum setup, you can see post by post if the person you want to buy from is dicking people around or taking a month to deliver parts.
More work for the moderators I know....Why dont you just ask someone to specifically moderate the FS section. I'm sure there are a handful of qualified and willing individuals.

Guys, there is an issue with Photopost requiring us to approve every comment that goes through the system. I'm working on it, sorry for the inconvenience. We're gonna stick with this system for a while as of all the options out there are just not as good as this one.

I resent where that's directed. The amount of time and money dumped into this site over the last few years is lots more than we have ever pulled in. The sponsor money covers vB fees, server cost for Chris, Dyno day supplies, and misc software upgrades. We aren't trying to expand the site in a way to take it nationally and make some more money, that just isn't the goal.

Chris is also setting things up so that more of our funds can actually go into some worth while prizes for the members. 07 will be a good year to see what we mean.

Good attitude... don't give up on stuff, if you have a goal, put the time and effort into it, or find someone who will.

Dedication is the key.


Either way, you will eventualy realize if it will work or not, the key is going to know when to give up or when to press on.

I'm just going to say keep up the work and look at the outcome as you go, if there is no progress or improvement, you will know what to do then.

I agree. I'd prefer we go back to the old way or figure out how to make them show up in "New Posts" because that's the only place I go to check for stuff.

And I'm still getting more hits from EvoMN and MN3S on my DSM part out then I am from here which is really frustrating.
