Rock Falls Saturday Fun Day 4/7/07
 

Anybody heading out for the opener? After not racing once last year (circle or drag) I have the itch really bad. I'm currently setting up a smaller group from my work to head up to the Rock on the Saturday fun day (04/07/07) and was wondering if any of you fella's were headin' out too.

I'll be on the Bike since I still don't have any of my projects completed
(coming close on a couple though).

You biatch's should get yer ass to the track!

A day that's open to every make and model. I like it more than the sport compact days because there is more of a variety of vehicles and they actually prep the track for the faster class.

I just talked to the guy I sold my motor to and he wants to go on this day. I work Saturday morning until 7am, so I could potentially leave for Rock Falls from work but that would be a very long day. I may try to get it off, otherwise I might have someone else drive while I sleep.

I won't be ready for then, but it is looking like all systems go for John's Galant and My stealth for Sport Compact Opening day. :nod:

Fun day is good, but now it will be all over the place.
Last time i went on a fun day it was all V8/amateur drag racers with slick, it was me, 1 person and 2 DSMers from WI, one with the buschur signature EVO.
It sucked racing a stock DSM on that day, but this time not so stock and hopefully next time with a nice car is good working condition.

Sidenote: CVD your old setup rocks!! I love that car.

Thanks. I really like the way that motor turned out. I only wish I could have done the little more I needed to do to get its potential out of it. That or have gotten a shell.

Yeah, i almost traded my car for a clean VR4, but i need to get to my old setup first before i can really say goodbye.

I've had several trailers. I usually buy them in the spring and sell them in the fall so I don't have to store them.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't want to pull the driveshaft to dolly it. I'd just drive it out there and have my buddy follow me in my Avalanche and rent a trailer if it breaks.

Looks like I might be getting a 28' enclosed race trailer. This will definitely make the whole pit area thing more comfortable. I'll have to put an air conditioning unit on the roof and a nice workbench inside.

Yeah, I'm tired of buying cheap trailers every year, I could just get a decent enclosed trailer and park my hooptie in it for the winter, it would save some shop space.

I just check the weather... 35 with few snow showers... :(

I live 10mi from rock falls so I'll see if I know in advance if it will be canceled or not. The weather can be unpredictable. With that said I can give directions out to my place if someone wants to crash in Eau claire fri night, or do some last minute work before the track. Plus I know where you can get 110 for under 5bucks a gallon, and a few stations with 93octane. Just reply in the post or PM me!

I should be at the track next weekend whenever the chassis cert day is with two chassis' hopefully. I might have to race one of the beater cars to test my parachute :)
