Who wants to go fishing?

No bullshit, I want to buy a pole, gets worms out of a vending machine, load up on beer, and chill by a river or lake for meaningless hours. I haven't been fishing in 10 years. Anyone else feel like it's a good way to kill a saturday or sunday?

Well where the hell do people go that isn't 5 hours drive? I know in Decorah I used to just head to my parents land along the Upper IA river.

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

ClearWater lake in clear water MN I hear is really good fishing, But you live in the Land of 10,000 lakes so i'm sure you can find a lake clser than 45 minutes from you.

You remember how to tie a not in fishing line?? lol

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

Well I dont really shore fish.. I use a boat. Most of the metro lakes are pretty good, I prefer minnetonka just because its huge and it holds alot of fish. Smaller lakes would be good for shore fishing. Calhoun, bush lake, etc. Bass fishing is probably my favorite.

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

This shit is already getting too complicated.

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

Lol... Lets just get a group of people to hit the river sometime. Throw some worms or corn on and sit on the shore waiting for carp or whatever to eat it. Beer is a necessity.

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

we need a place where we can throw shit at boaters that pass by. ;-)

Sounds like you want to go the the Apple river too me. So, when are we going fishing? You will also need a fishing license (sp). Let me know I am all game.

I'll do without that. And we need to be by a McDonalds, so after fishing all day, I can go somewhere to get some fish to eat.

you can get a license for 20 dollars, or a 180 dollar fine. (wisconsin laws) Just tell them your name is Matt Dereus if you get caught.
If you need a spot to throw shit at boaters they are called bridges... Apple river isn't boatable after the damn just north of somerset. But north of the damn is the best place to fish northerns in st. croix county.

Wal-mart has a really got selection of snoopy poles and mickey mouse bobbers

I second the license. I think its about the same price or even cheaper in MN. But hahaha Snoopy poles.

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

Shit $20 for a license, then $25 for beer, this is adding up quite a bit! I think I'll just tie a bobber on my line and pretend to fish. That way I have an extra $20 to spend on beer :)

If you have a line in the water it is still considered fishing, no matter what is attached to it.

I wouldnt suggest fishing w/o a license unless you are on a private pond or something, those fines add up real quick. Trust me.

Once I move a little closer I would be down for some fishing. And Allen(or is it Allan? Your name isnt in your profile anymore), forget the McDs, we'll catch fish.

Just think how easy it would be to cut your line if a DNR officer started coming near you.

Oh, and anyone who hates dealing with cops/troopers, try dealing with a pissed off DNR officer. They have a bit more authority than a regular officer of the law.

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

Yea I guess. I think they might understand a hookless bobber, but I don't know if I'd get out of underage drinking. Stupid cops and laws.

It's Allan. But this whole thing brings me to a story I'll share. A little more than 10 years ago I drove my of my old cars (90 Mercury Topaz) out to the Big Horn Mountians in Wyoming to go camping, hiking, and fishing in the mountians with some friends from work. It was the best fuck'n time, and the first time I had even been in the mountians. Well after scaling over a set of peaks to get in the middle where a buge clear blue lake allowed us to catch some fish, we made our way back to the camp site. They 3 guys I was with proceeded to make a fire and carve up the days catch. I began my 40 mile treck back to the nearest town and grabbed McDonalds fish. NO JOKE.

tim 05-18-2007 10:28 PM

Re: Who wants to go fishing?

That is the worst story ever. Nothing better than some fresh crappies, walleye, etc... Pffft, McDonalds.:shakesfist:
