So The New Wheels Finally Came In...

I haven't really changed much on the Z06 lately, other than a 100hp dry kit I threw together, which is a bunch of fun. :D Last night I ran an '07 'Busa with exhaust, sprockets, filter box and programming from a 60mph roll and pulled him just a hair. Sorry, back to the topic.... A few weeks ago my iForged Classics finally came in. The fronts are 19x10's and the rears are 19x13's, I also opted for the full chrome version. The tires are Nitto Invo series in 285/30's up front and 345/30's out back. I snapped some pics with my buddy's '01 M5, here they are.....

Ya know, I have never really been a fan of Corvettes. I think they are kinda overrated and to be honest I think they're ugly after the late 60s, that is until I saw that first pic. There is no denying that is a HOT looking car.

And make sure to get a low shot. I want to see how wide those shoes are.

100shot on a car that already traps 125? damn yea that would be a very strong street car.

Haha yeah, I totally spaced that one out. The first time I read the thread a couple days ago I read that. But when I posted, I blanked on how wide they were and didn't re-read it.

Thanks guys!

Last night after work I took a shower, swapped tires, added a little fuel threw the laptop and a spare bottle in the hatch. We headed to the track in San Antonio, which is a two hour drive to meet some friends for Midnight Madness. I hit the gates around 9:15 and it was paaaaaacked. I was number 162 and within an hour the number of cars had doubled. We waited in line until midnight to make one damn pass! Three hours!

Ok, here's the lowdown on the pass. The Nova in the other lane decided to take off before the lights even started coming down and my E/T Street Radials decided to bite for the first time. I thought I had broken the rearend when the car started bucking, but luckily my stock clutch and rearend came out fine. After that pass I just packed up and headed home because the lines were so long. I'm working 7 days a week. So yes, I had to be back in Corpus and at work at 7:00 this morning. Yes, I was sleepy. :D

So here it is, my only bottle pass....First gear was slow as a snail because of the 3,000rpm launch. I was anticipating the usual enormous amounts of tirespin, that didn't happen. It bogged haaaaard, but once it got moving.... Well, just watch the video.

And all with a warranty, very nice. Wish I had the scratch.

Re: So The New Wheels Finally Came In...

Thanks guys! I just made a couple of adjustments to the nitrous system and it seems like the car is responding very well. My wideband is on the fritz, so I have the fuel turned up super fat and the timing way down. Once I get a stout clutch and some axles I'll try launching hard and then I'll start digging some more power out of it. I'd like to see some 140mph traps before I port the intake, TB and do a cam swap.

And yes, the '07's have a GM 100,000 mile warranty. :D

And you for Youtube lovers out there....

Re: So The New Wheels Finally Came In...

I just got home from the track. It's five hours round trip, but I'm just a die hard like that.

First off, the weather was horrible. Air temp was in the low 70's/high 60's, but a northern had blown in and there was a massive head wind with 30+mph gusts. Horrible. My first pass was an easy 11.doh @ 136 with a 1.95 sixty foot. I was really surprised to see the mph still hanging in there. Actually, I expected to see it down to ~135'ish. Time for a second pass... With a little harder launch it pulled a 1.80 sixty foot, which was good enough to run a 10.77 @ 137.28. That's still with a very conservative tune and the same 125 shot. The stock clutch is holding up like a little champ, but I didn't want to push my luck since I was so far from home and I have to be at work at 7:00am.

BTW, on the way home I got 29.1 mpg.

I love this car. :)
