Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
Well the car season for me is now offically over seeing that I was in Coon Rapids and the moment that the flurries came down was the same time that the plows started DUMPING the salt on the roads. I know that it is a little slippery but man do they really need to put that many inches of salt on the road. Ok I'm done complaining.

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
Both sides of that car looked exactly like mine before repainting. Even the door had a 4x4x4 patch around the handle that was pure rust. Salt FTL!!

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
it was slick last night I was sliding around in the evo
|
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
there's no salt on the roads here because there's no snow bitches!!! South Florida is awesome, but I look forward to coming home and tearing it up in the evo. Car season never ends for me, just switch the good'ol ACD to the snow setting and off I go! I will never understand guys parking their awd cars for the winter, that's what they're made for! Bring on the snow!

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
if mine would ever get finish, it been blown up twice, robbed, sold, returned, and finally rebuilt again.....im starting to wonder if the cycle will ever end....i would take mine out but i just dont want to risk some other jackass who cant drive, cause i would rather not see my pop can turn into a crumpled pop can...ok i feel better.....

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
right its always someone else's fault.
From what i hear this state is the worse for dumping salt and destroying cars in the winter. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
I hate salt. I hate MN. I hate snow.

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
Suckers!!!!!
It was 80 yesterday went out with my brother and made my first motorcycle video. Was fun but the Thanksgiving traffic was unnerving on the roads we were on so wasn't able to take them as fast as I wanted to. But got some good clips of me sparking my boots and some nice wheelies. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
Every year all of you bitches piss an moan about the weather and about not being able to or want to drive your cars (be it because of snow or salt).
How about we quit our fucking complaining and either move or get a p.o.s for the winter. I say let the snow, ice, and salt come. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
I guess if you don't have a car that is actually decent you don't care.
I like that it actually snowed cause that means the start of the drift season for me and the corolla!! once i get teh E-brake fixed/tightened up. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
same here with my bmw!!! i never thought a 1979 could treat me soo good!!!
|
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
My whip is in the shop getting some go fast goodies FTW, as for this horseshit weather we are having my car will be parked untill all roads are clear.
|
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
ACD snow setting FTW!
|
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
I am still wondering if I should park mine or run it this winter.
I saw the plow trucks dumping salt onto the road when I didn't even think it was that slippery. They must not have anything else to do. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
Considering I almost got taco'd by a douchebag in an S10 on hwy 47 Wed. night I'd say salt is a good thing.
Although I did make $20 pulling him out with my truck after he slammed into the ditch. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
I had to drive my gsx to work today. I was planning on leaving it under the cover but I got shafted and had no spare car :(
|
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
There's still piles of salt on the road everywhere. WTF is that??? it hasn't snowed in 2 days now. They really need to manage their salting better.

Yup, Talon insurance has been reduced and has been parked for the season, ever since the last cruise. Time to start digging in and getting stuff done on her!

Make sure you bring enough fire extinguishers in case your car starts cali on fire. :)

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
So what is everyone doing for winter projects? I'm still in termoil over getting a new motor or just spending the money on my bike, which I plan to race next year regardless. But was at the track yesterday watching the races and saw 3 people go down. no-one was hurt but seems like a lot more accidents happen with bikes, so which would be more expensive? repairing a bike or fixing up the eclipse?
Would love, to just once be able to have my car running perfectly so I could actually see what it'll do after all these years. But I doubt that's possible with my car cause no matter how much I try it never seems to happen. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
My plans for the winter are to hopefully get DSMLink, and cams for the car, and an exhaust system for the bike. I'm thinking the bike may take priority, followed by Link.

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
anyone is welcome to parking lot races with the rolla.
I plan on fixing my boost leaks, testing diff. springs in the car, maybe a new/reconditioned head. Hvac cables need to be installed. apparently the problem i had with power dropping off was my throttle body gasket being non existent. |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
I was out of town Wed - Sun. I didn't realize they dropped salt sometime while I was gone. Although tonight I saw salt being dropped on 94w. That marks the end of the season for me.
Winter goals are a second 255 and a second fuel rail/system for some corn(including E98) in the spring. A Shep stage 4 would be nice as well. And maybe a second 3.5" muffler of some sort, I must be getting old. |

The eclipse will be cheaper than the bike going down very hard. They are so light that they don't take crashes well. Subframes, swing arms and frames like to bend. If you are going to race, start in a lower class, usually a SV650 is a good choice. Racing is TOTALLY different than riding on the street. I am sure you won't believe me, but it is. Start with a bike that won't scare you because of the shear speed. That way if you crash it, you don't crash your street bike too. Or just fix the eclipse :D |
Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
I've got a busy winter coming up, 255, twin 14b's, not sure if i'm going FMIC or dsm smic's yet, and probably struts and cv boots. Alignment and dyno time. Maybe HG or just replacing a bunch of hoses, havn't taken the back part of the engine apart to see where the coolant is coming from. Also fixing the lifter tick... busy winter.

Re: Snow flurries= SALT SALT SALT
My last mods of the year are going on tomorrow (ported/coated exhaust manifold and coated SS o2 housing) then I'm done modding until spring. I should have plenty of power to get me through the snowbanks!
