Call of Duty 4 (Online)
Just wondering if anybody on here plays this game online in the PS3 network? I just started playing this about two weeks ago and have to say that is the best war/fighting game I have ever played. It is seriously addicting to say the least.
If anybody on here plays send me a PM with you address so I can put you in my buddy list for team games. |

Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
xBox live was all shitty over xmas/new years break due to the huge amount of traffic. It's working fine now. I'll probably be on tonight from 8:30/9 till 11.

Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
I have played on both; the Xbox competition was way easier than PS3. There were team death match games that I had over 40 kills in without airstrikes. On PS3 if you get 30 you are an awesome player; sure there will be games that are filled with awesome players but I just found that to be more prevelant on PS3.
Either way that game is crazy. |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
Wow do I suck at the online part.. I played a little into the single player and then did the online. I was like fresh meat out there, I must of looked like special ed dee de dee mencia. I like how they show what the other person saw as they mop the floor with you. Just to rub it in that you walk around the corner and rambo lvl 60 is standing there watching you. Aims up and shoots ya right in the head. Was a real treat. Nothing a little practice won't fix, Fun game though for sure.

Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
I would suggest playing the single player and learning the controls, techniques, etc. first unless you want your stats online to be shit. I jumped into multiplayer right away because I was at my friends house in Texas visiting when I bought it and played it on his PS3 so I wouldn't have been able to save my game. Needless to say, I finally got my stats positive on my kill/death ratio as I was over 200-300 down until I got to about level 40 my first time around and now I'm about 1200 positive at prestige 1 level 54.
But yeah, very addicting game. Been playing it almost everyday since October. Oh and I like the kill cam part, lets you see where he was going after he kills you so you can warn your buddies if he was heading towards them next. |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)

Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
Im pretty sure when I started multi player I had Sleepydsm over and he got me to about level 10+. It must have been odd for the other, one game Im the worst player then I hand the controls over to him and then I wax everybody.
And F you people with your big ass TVs! I want one! |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
I haven't seen it on ps3, but I would imagine you would need a serious tv investment to beable to match what a good monitor and graphics card can do.
I might pick up cod4 for pc, but I just can't get rid of United Offensive. |

Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
PS3 is alot more expensive though...
|
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
less then 100 bucks more. and everything is wireless, even the wireless network works great. The controllers work like a Wii for some games so it has better graphics then a xbox360, has controllers that work like the Wii, and has an actual internet browser with the capability to actually install an operating system like a computer. Its all in one. (plus the bluetooth controllers are awesome with no wires.)
Also if you have a PSP, you can play your PS3 games using the remote play feature, so basically you turn on the remote play, then connect up your PSP and go into your room and play COD4 on the PSP screen. LOL |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
Wow.
^You have me sold on getting a PS3. I mainly wanted a new machine to play Forza. But I guess I'll let that slide and get a PS3. But no Forza or Halo :(. |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
The GT5 game is gonna murder forza. There is a demo that is free to download, its pretty fuckin sweet.
Oh yea, on PS3 you can download games directly onto it on the playstation store, there is usually a lot of free demos, add ons, and some full games. Super Rub A Dub fucking rocks, and Tekken 5. |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
I enjoy playing it on 360.

Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
You can't actually play PS3 games on your PSP, only PS1 games right now. I definitely recommend the PS3 as this year is the year for it. Plenty of new features are going to be released with the new firmware updates, and tons of sweet games (MGS 4, Killzone 2, GT5, HOME(not really a game but looks cool)).
360 only has about 1 year left in her before she kicks the bucket anyways. And the systems have a 33% failure rate comared to 3% or less on the PS3. Get a PS3 :P |
Re: Call of Duty 4 (Online)
The 360 simply has more gaming variety and it's not going to kick the bucket anytime soon. Each system has their give and takes, their shared games, and their system special games.
I've heard some people call the PS3 netowrk free cause you get what you pay for, I've heard people complain about the failure rate (33%?, come on) of the systems, yet MS stood by and upped the warrenty coverage, and I've heard the HD dvd vs Blue Ray argument. Personaly, I like the 360 but I'll end up with a PS3 if I ever pick up a bluw ray player and the cost is still in the ball bark. The advancements are in the games and servers for online play, not soley in the systems. |
