1979 Rx7 SA22

like the title says it is a 79 rx7 FD 5 speed car has been stored for every winter for the past 12 years. car has never seen salt and was bought in china lake California. the bad is that it is going to need an apex rotor seal for the motor because the car has not been ran in a few years. car also comes with a spare manual transmission. the paint is fading because it was a California car and the hoods clear coat is pealing. the car is showing some wear and tare for the year but it is still in remarkable shape and would be great for a small restore job.

It's not an FD, it's an SA22 or FB.

I have a motor at my shop that I want to get rid of for free(it was for a swap for a bad one, but the swap never happened). If someone wants this car, take my motor and your done. Or if someone else wants the motor, PM me to come take it.

wrong, it is actually a SA, FB's did not start until 1981. SA and FB's are both 1st gen rx7's.

God I love the peanut gallery on this forum.

Re: 1979 Rx7 SA22

I had an '84 GSL. That was a pretty sweet car, until the apex seals completely shat the bed.

I don't have the space or time for this right now. Maybe this spring, but I really hope you've gotten rid of it by then.

Re: 1979 Rx7 SA22

Any rust? Missing parts, etc.?

Febo 11-06-2008 09:36 PM

Re: 1979 Rx7 SA22

Would you accept 300 and does it actually run and drive?

dragonov_elite 11-09-2008 11:36 AM

Re: 1979 Rx7 SA22

Very little rust and all the parts that where taken off are currently in the back hatch area. It does not run and drive right now because of a dried up apex seal. I do have plenty of pics of the car and of the engine bay just ask and ill send.

Except I live in an apartment and will be moving in a few months to another location. The next apartment will have a garage stall (or two if I can rent two).

Then its GAME ON :dj:
