I saw this, I paid $200 for a 4gb replacement less than two months ago :(
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Who cares? The iPhone 2.0 software will be a FREE upgrade for exiting iphones. You get all of the new software features.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Yea, but I don't get 3g or GPS. Google Maps with live tracking would rock.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
I may actually buy one of these at this point
I really wanted a phone with GPS, guess I'll look into what a plan costs and how good th GPS is (features). |
Re: iPhone 2.0
The cheapest iPhone plan is $60/month I do believe.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
our company will be actually switching to iphones. I hate mac but iphones are pretty darn cool.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Is this still Sprint-only or whoever they were with for the original launch?
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Still AT&T only in the U.S., and it will be for a long time. Many of my friends are considering switching service providers now that there are many more features and a price of $200.

Re: iPhone 2.0
I highly doubt it. It'll be cracked in a heartbeat.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Anyone know if it supports dial-up networking for a blutooth or USB tethered PC? I have a VZ6700 right now and need to use it to dial in to the net from wherever I might be for work.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
These are cool, and the price point is finally in the right place, but I think I'm still gonna hold out for the new/not out yet Blackberry Bold(mainly for typing/email reasons).
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
So my iphone is really retarded. I went to the apple store and they told me to try a few things and if its still retarded then bring it back and they will give me a new one. So do you think if I wait then they will give me the "new iphone"?

Re: iPhone 2.0
possibly... it cant hurt to give it a few weeks if you can make it that long.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
I doubt it, they have stacks of refurb'd ones for warranty swaps.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Can you reserve an iphone? or do you have to chance getting one on the launch date?
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Yes, its called go wait in line ;)
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Apple is allowing all iPhones purchased since May 26th to be returned for full credit by people wanting the new iPhone instead. I think that is pretty nice of them.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
They started doing this a few years back if I remember correctly. It started because everyone knew when a new product upgrade would be released and sales a month prior would plummet.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0
Got the 2.0 firmware on my 1.0 phone today, works pretty good!
http://www.macrumors.com/2008/07/10/...ailable-early/ For those looking for a nice phone, I would consider buying a used v1 iphone and unlocking it. It's cheap and still a *very* nice phone. I still love mine. Sorry to say though, I will be saying goodbye to it soon.... |
Re: iPhone 2.0 / 3G
Thats cause you are way to ballin' to not have the new hotness.
|
Re: iPhone 2.0 / 3G
Too bad their activation servers are down today :) Who says M$ is the only one that are n00bs. At any rate I'm buying one and praying they jailbreak it sooner than later... I give it a week or less. Then it's time to pray that they make a divx codec/player for it so I can watch my pirated movies on it, without having to convert it.
For now I'll just have to settle for playing GT2 on it and looking like a t00l that sold out to Apple. |
Re: iPhone 2.0 / 3G
iTunes store is down, no update for me :(
|
Re: iPhone 2.0 / 3G
So I got my phone upgraded to the new 2.0 software yesterday, works perfect. I have a copy of the firmware if you are dying for it, let me know ;)
iPhone 3G in hand, but goddamn iTunes store is dead in the water, so its sitting here lifeless, and my old phone is deactivated :( Shawn, think fast: http://www.macrumors.com/iphone/2008...-and-unlocked/ :) |

Re: iPhone 2.0 / 3G
Sooooo can V1 phones be unlocked and used on say the Sprint network?
I know nothinnnng about phones, as i've used the same one for going on 5 years now. 2mins of research tells me it will not work, as these phones only work on GSM networks. These phones look cool, but the data plan is rape. |

Yeah I agree, I was going to switch and get it but the extra 30-50 bucks on top off of the plan is kinda high for me right now. Even more so considering that 3g isn't even in the duluth area yet. |

Re: iPhone 2.0 / 3G
you can unlock the first generation iphone and run it on T-mobile no problem. All you need to do at T-mobile is buy their Tzones $5.99 plan and you have unlimited internets.
