What kind of rims are those? Willing to part ways with just those? I have a set of stock 2g gst rims I can throw in as a trade.

Re: 1997 gsx

whats your number?

Also if you could get the vin to carfax and check the mileage that would be awesome.

emolson 06-19-2009 12:42 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

I have checked with carfax and the last reported odometer reading was 68,000 miles in 2006. I bought the car in July 2007, took me over a year to get the lien release and title from previous owner and have put maybe 30 miles on since then. PM me if you want more information off the report.. it cost me 30 bucks! :P

I removed my number, been getting random calls. PM to get it.

Re: 1997 gsx

No, i drove it home from maplewood and to work in St. Michael once, the car is in no condition to be a daily driver, due to the lack of containing oil.

emolson 06-19-2009 06:32 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

When i bought the car, it came with a box full of parts.. e.g. pistons that have been shattered.. a second throttle body, misc. sensors. I have a black spoiler that came with it, but it's very ugly and the led light bar is missing. Apparently this is engine #3 in that car, according to the guy from Maplewood. The engine swap was done poorly, a lot of things were overlooked. I am sick of finding problems and trying to fix them, i don't know dsm's at all. This is my first DSM, first impression is not that good.. haven't even gotten to drive bearly anywhere.

GsXtUrBo98 06-19-2009 09:11 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

I believe the guy in maplewood's name was adam or something like that and when I drove it He had a big turbo on it and I waited like 2 weeks for him to replace the head gasket on for me to drive it.. When I did drive it it had all these problems so I bought my car that I have at the moment instead...

I loved those rims though and he couldnt even tell me what they were cuz he didnt know..

There is some paint stain on the seat and the black spoiler was held on by deck screws..

The body was in good shape though and since he has had it it looks to be in better hands. Good luck with the sale.

Re: 1997 gsx

Looks like a good project for a DSM guru, does the car still have ac too?

Trade for a 1986 starion?

emolson 06-20-2009 06:16 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

The A/C has been removed, completely gone. The gentlemans name was Ryan M. that i bought it from. What condition is the starion in?

Re: 1997 gsx

What 2 things does it neeed? I am not good with project cars as you can see... lol

emolson 06-20-2009 09:58 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

I noticed the odometer stated 95k miles on it, i have ran a carfax report:

* 10/03/2002
* 186,550 Miles
* Nevada Inspection Station, Las Vegas, NV
* Passed emissions inspection

Carfax report: http://www.carfax.com/viewEmailRepor...i3&language=EN

But anyways, depending on what the two problems are, and how easily it is to fix.. i am down.

Re: 1997 gsx

Daaannnnggggg, I guess that gauge cluster is from another car then... interesting to know this...... Needs a MAF and possibly new rear tires, Im going to try to fix those two issues mondayish.

Re: 1997 gsx

Awesome, i need something that is reliable and i don't need to do any work to. Let me know what you are thinking, i am VERY interested in this offer. I am happy to be making progress, this car is too beautiful and i get more upset everytime i look at it. I want it gone :(

Re: 1997 gsx

Does this thing have upgraded injectors, or any kind of fuel management??

emolson 06-21-2009 09:19 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

To be honest, i don't know. All the more with the injectors is there is new o-rings on them, we had to replace them when we pulled the fuel rail to remove the tps sensor. Otherwise all i know is that the fuel pump is hardwired, don't know too much about the car.

Febo 06-22-2009 02:57 AM

Re: 1997 gsx

Like, hardwired as in it has its own switch?

Gravy 06-22-2009 11:59 AM

Re: 1997 gsx

I would say it's rewired like most people do with the relay set up. I could see a "Switch" as being a problem and i think some of us on here know what i'm talking about.
:scared:

emolson 06-22-2009 12:06 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

It is connected directly to the battery, i don't know why anyone would need to use such big amp wire, but i didn't know what it was for until i pulled out the fuse and the car would not start. Maybe the fuel pump or injectors are not stock? Dunno.

Febo 06-22-2009 12:11 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

Sounds like a rewire, thats a tad different, but good.

And yes, I could see a switch being a problem too (cough GSX with starter on a toggle cough) I tend to forget about those things.

Im also going to pick up that MAF today and see about the fuel cut on the starion, I got the wheel hop issue taken care of so, so no new tires needed.

emolson 06-22-2009 12:16 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

Alright, sounds good.. just out of curiousity, does it have a/c?

Febo 06-22-2009 12:29 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

The system is in it, but there is no belt on it and Im not sure if its charged.

Re: 1997 gsx

Was the guy you bought it from Asian from Maplewood? I believe that is the guy that i traded my stock side skirts and rear bumper for some aftermarket ones on the first dsm i ever owned. (worst trade ever). I regretted that decision about 3 days later.

emolson 06-27-2009 11:28 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

The guy that was supposed to look at my car today was a no-show, still up for sale. And no i did not buy it from an asian.

Re: 1997 gsx

Haha I didn't think that this would still be up. I bought the car a year ago and rebuilt the motor because it was poorly assembled. You can see my build thread on here, its Boomers whip.

Re: 1997 gsx

Yes. It was a very odd bump for an old for-sale thread.

Boomdeeze 09-30-2010 05:05 PM

Re: 1997 gsx

Well I mean the thread was about my car and I figured I would let the people know that were asking who bought it. My bad, delete the post then.
