As much as I hate that song you pulled it off pretty good. Get yourself a mixer and a good mic, it'll sounds 10 times better.

Yes, I am with my parents for Christmas and their room was directly below mine while i recorded this on some crappy computer mic.

it was very monotone so with a little more heart into it would be pretty good.

in my opinion no one can freestyle like slug he's insane! plus mn has a very big underground rap scene with tons of talent. I really don't like hip hop very much but love most of the local stuff.

I am at my parents place and they were sleeping below the room I was in, was late at night and I was hammered. Was trying to be nice enough not to wake them up to me doing a freestyle lol. ;)

Works for me. I like it better than the first one, but can't really tell a lot because the music was so quiet.

You really need to figure out how to mix the music into the recording and not just have it playing in the background, it's seriously holding you back. Better mic and no background noises such as a cell phone and squeaky chair. :)

The reason i could hear that in your rap is that (not a reference to your age) When i was like 10-11 i used to record my voice on the computer but i would try to be quiet because of the parents, i hated the way i always sounded when i was trying to be quiet, even when i tried to give it more umph it always seemed like i was holding back.

Get some plywood and build yourself a sound booth when you get home. it should make everything sound good and cost you less than your mic did.

eyedea and slug are great. the first time i heard eyedea was in 2000 when he won the blaze battle, ever since then i have been a fan. if you guys wanna hear some crazy shit search Eyedea Becoming Became Undone. its about the craziest song i have ever heard. Its a 10 minute flow with sole, eyedea and pedestrian. Definitely a good listen.

I'm calling bullshit on this being all freestyle. In both links, it sounds like you ran out of a beat to finish a line, and just continued the next one reading it off a piece of paper. Plus, it sounds like you are reading.

I will applaud you for recording this and sharing it with people. That takes some balls. But I will say that there is no way this is freestyle. If you wrote it or thought about any of the lines previous to recording them, its not freestyle.

Get yourself a good mic, record when no one is around, and I want to hear what you have. :)

2nd one was not a freestyle, first one was though. Sorry if it came off that I was trying to imply they both were freestyles when the 2nd was clearly written.

I haven't downloaded anything forever and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to download instrumentals? Got my mic and it came with a free mixer, gonna try it until I get my auto-tune unlocked with an iLok.
