That'll do, pig. That'll do.

My new sc6262sp. Had to hammer out a few glitches, but everything seems to be in order. I get it tuned Wednesday. |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Looks amazing. How much power you estimating to get outta that setup?
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
:wank:
Damn that's sexy! |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
yum

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
hot!

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
my pee pee hurts.
in a good way, thank you. |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
I need to get 420whp since this guy in Texas made 419, and I need to one-up him, literally. I have 1000cc injectors, so whatever people can get with those, I suppose that's around where I'll be.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
That looks just like the one I seen under the counter at DB about 3 weeks ago lol.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
I ordered mine straight from Precision and they shipped it like 5 minutes after I called last Wednesday, it showed up Friday, and I drove it to Cars and Coffee with only one casualty. My O2 sensor was too close to the frame rail and stopped working after it banged into the rail a few too many times. I relocated it this morning, and Derek let me use his, so I'll just buy him a new one.

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
very nice
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Nice! Maybe I'll have to shoot for 421 in the 240 ;) haha

Badass man! Def let us know how the tune goes, should be a great setup! Not sure what the fuel system setup is like, but on a pretty stock evo, ~420 is the limit of 1000's on E85.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Hmm. Good to know. It's a walbro 255 with stock fuel lines and filter. I can raise my base fuel pressure if it runs out of fuel. I was on RC's website since these 1000's are RC brand and using their calculator, at my base fuel pressure (36psi) they are effectively 900cc injectors, haha. So I'll see what happens. Basically the injectors are like a bonus, since I only took it all apart to solve the head gasket issue and clutch issue. I also got a performance valve job and did a little more port matching and now the new turbo and nicer looking downpipe.

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Looking good man!
Make sure you don't suck that coilpack in ;) |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
SWEET 4g54 POWA!!
what are the specks of the engine? Do you have a build thread? What are you using to tune it? |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
mmm. Quest. purty.

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
wow...looks like an extremely nice setup man. let us know what you get :D
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
That looks soooo easy to work on. Sweeeeeeeet.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Couldn't make the 420, waste gate spring was not strong enough, but here's the business:

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
What does that come out to in shootout mode? Did the other guy dyno on a dyno dynamics or a dynojet? If dynojet you have him beat.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Nice numbers man, I want a ride.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
He was on a Mustang dyno, I've already beat his torque number, he has an unusually low number of 405 or something like that, I think it's really peaky too, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll give rides. It's fun when it spins 'em through second gear, but it depends on the pavement. I bet with little fuel and no passenger it'll spin in 3rd. I was on some cement today getting on 394 in 4th and punched it. It spun something, I'm thinking the tires and not the clutch only because it didn't start to smell and the car was actually kind of accelerating still.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
That's awesome!! Must be a blast to drive. I've only gotten to ride in a pretty stock conquest (Julian's), would like to take a ride in a modded one.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Pretty good numbers! How was the wastegate spring limiting hp? Boost looks flat all the way to red line.

Wow good numbers! I like the torque!
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Yeah, Shane mentioned when I asked about the WG that whenever you go over double the spring pressure you might have problems controlling the boost. I have a seven pound spring in mine.
22 it does fine, but above that it seemed to just push the valve open on it's own. Too much pressure in the manifold. I played with the gain on the boost controller and it stopped doing that thing that sounded kind of like surge but wasn't. Again, the wastegate was popping open as boost was climbing and making boost come on late. Now it's like lighting off a JATO rocket. |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
nice numbers! Looks like a torque spike at 4700 and drops off fast... would the waste gate fix that problem? Or is this a SOHC head flowing problem?
So when you mention you want to break the 420 hp, is that the highest HP 4g54? |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Damn that little spring! Nice conservative power man, should be hella fun!
Only thing that is a little shocking to me is how much higher the boost threshold of the 6262 is compared to the 61mm. Billet wheel you'd think it would spool faster, or at least make better/equal torque when off boost. Do you think you'll throw a stronger spring in there and retune, or just leave it as-is for a while? Seems like an easy fix for another 30+whp, would get ya over 400 pretty easy. |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
way to go
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Nice car, Nice numbers where did you tune at man?

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Boo the shitty little spring.
Congrats looks even more fun than last time. Go get some damn real WG springs (24psi) and go back. |

Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
My heater core leaks, and I just broke the transmission (just bearings, still drivable), but either way I need to take it out and put a new one in there. And the heater requires removal of the entire dashboard. It's an old car with problems. But it's good and quick. I might leave it right now and fix the problems, then later I'll come back for more. I'm going to work on a nice header, stiffer spring and other things.
|
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Looking good Andrew. If you went with a stiffer spring closer to your target boost you might gain back some of that spool-up as the wastegate would be held shut longer/harder.
Man this car has come a long way from where it started, excellent work. |
Re: That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Thanks Josh! It's been fun, expensive, and it still feels slow! Haha. I still like it though, and with a little reworking, should have a torque peak at higher RPM, and eventually, if I'm lucky I'd like to run over 25psi (30 would be my goal). 425whp at 25-26psi would be great. Some guys in Florida made 510whp with like 40psi, haha. I don't know how but they pulled it off, but usually it's right around 30psi for the 500 mark.
