All we wanted was some BBQ...

Aaron/Brownman (turbotalon1g) was in town last night so Janelle and I figured we'd take him out for some delicious TX BBQ...

We were sitting in the right turn lane at a stop light, it had just turned green so we were maybe doing 5-10mph when some big Chevy SUV with a cow pusher was trying to take a left into a gas station parking lot was cutting through traffic and slammed into the side of Teh Gheyrod. I swerved and hit the brakes, but going so slow there wasn't much I could do. Had he done the same I think things would have been ok, but he had headphones in and just kept accelerating right into my car. The cops of course didn't really do shit and told him to just go on his way. I had my car flat-bedded to the best body shop in the area so we'll see what they and my insurance company have to say about the car.

As long as they don't total the car out this shop will do amazing work. The car will be just as good as new, plus it will have a new front lip (will try for a SE lip), new undertray (maybe I'll ask for a Beatrush), fresh clear bra and tint, etc.

Re: All we wanted was some BBQ...

I cried myself to sleep being in this evo makes me realize how much I like them.

It happened so quick I didn't think it was gonna hit, then I did, then it hit a lot harder than I thought, I got hit by the drivers side mirror coming thru the car.

I am really sorry for this, but I hope they total this bitch pay kracka and let him move on.

On a side note, I learned that Kracka works for white power. No shit on that one.

Re: All we wanted was some BBQ...

Thanks guys! The body shop (Trade Secret Auto in Plano, TX) is already tearing into the car to find all the damage. They mentioned wanting to try and get me new wheels too so we'll see. I told them to be sure and include a new clear bra and window tint in the estimate to make sure they get everything. The engine and transmission luckily weren't damaged at all as far as I can tell, it stayed running during the accident and I was able to drive it off the the shoulder without any weird noises coming from it. They will be fully inspecting everything though, including the suspension and alignment.

4 evo's in on month is to much.

The Mitsubishi gods are smiting us. :(

Make sure that the car is perfectly straight when it's done, things like to bend in half when they're hit like that.

Definitely. The body shop already said they'll get it up on an alignment rack to make sure everything is straight. I just got the car aligned last weekend too so with that spec sheet it will be very easy to compare. I seriously woke up this morning just sick to my stomach not believing that this actually happened last night (maybe partly because I ate 15 boneless wings too).

What I mean is that just because the wheels are all pointing in the same direction, that doesn't mean the chassis is. If I were you I'd get under the car with a piece of string and make sure everything is straight, front to back. Was the rocker panel underneath the doors damaged? What about the B pillar being pushed in?

The side skirt looked 100% perfect this morning when we went back to inspect the car with the body man. We'll see about the B-pillar once the doors come off; the hinges were tweaked but that may be all. This isn't a State Farm "approved" body shop so I don't expect there to be any behind the scene shenanigans going on, but I will be sure to really look the car over after the repairs to ensure it's just as straight as before.

My engine blew on the way home from getting tuned. That is why I did not drive it on the cruise

Re: All we wanted was some BBQ...

Wow, that's super shitty! I'm glad everyone is ok.

The B pillar looks like it might be pushed in a little, as well as the lower part of the A pillar, but those are easy enough to fix. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they throw it on the frame rack to pull the pillars out, throw a couple new doors and a fender on it, and send you on your way.

Yeah, I was over at Scheides' earlier, and we decided that it's Trevor's turn next, seeing as the destruction has moved on from the black ones to the white ones...

It appears to be a shitty time to own an Evo.

Shut up Matt D., Don't u dare include DSMs in this mess. :jjj2a:

Its not the EVo's fault, its the stupid burnout fuck that had earphones in his ears and wasn't looking at oncoming traffic.

God that evo was so nice. :angryfire:
