I am picking up this exact 2004 Geely 50cc scooter up this Friday from the dealership in Plymouth. What do you guys think?

Ya damn right I am.

dylan 04-27-2004 03:22 PM

Just wondering what you are going to use it for?

Kracka 04-27-2004 03:26 PM

It is for my lady-friend...she just basically wants it for recreational use. I have a bike and she wants one too....only a bit smaller :)

SlowWhite 04-27-2004 04:34 PM

think your Gay! :whipped: j/k

I personally don't like them but hey I still want to get a pocket bike even though I know I won't fit on one and look dumb as hell. I still think it would be a riot to try to ride one especially at the tracks.

Meh... Im not one for scooters. I would look for a 250cc small cruiser bike or something.

Those things are for side street use only... limits you alot.

Goat Blower 04-27-2004 06:24 PM

I just saw some of them go through the auto auction last week. They're not bad, not the same quality as something like a small Honda scooter, but not bad for the price. Make sure to ask where you would get parts from if something should go bad. If there aren't some US distribution points for them, it might not be worth buying.

I really want a pocket bike myself. If I can just free up about $700 for a used Blata.

You must realize that I already have a 500cc bike and that this is not for me.

The quality isn't the same as a Honda or Yamaha....but considering they sell new for the price of a 15 year old Yami or Honda I think it is a great deal. I have ridden them and they are very nice. I have already located many parts distributors within the United States that are directly supplied from Geely.

I do realize that I read the post ;) But 50cc isnt going to get you very far. Just to putz around on side streets. And you still need to get a full blown license in order to drive one.. so why not find a little bigger bike so people can see and here you better.

Not trying to down scooters... if thats the way she wants to go that is fine... just saying youll prolly get more moneys worth out of something that has no limits.

Actually you don't need to get a motorcycle license for it...a regular driver's license is all that is needed. The thing does about 30-35 mph stock...but modded they can do up to 50mph. She does not want to ride a real motorcycle, she wants something small that she can just tool around on and is easy to handle (she weighs less than 100 pounds).

Kracka 05-01-2004 06:32 PM

Got a black with silver lower trim yesterday. It's awsome to ride...forget my Ninja!

Jana 05-01-2004 06:36 PM

That's cool, change your mind on the color?

Kracka 05-01-2004 07:53 PM

Becky didn't much like the teal. I thought she would thats why I picked it out. The black/silver looks awsome.

unreal808 05-02-2004 12:22 AM

I would buy on for myself.

But they are like fat girls,

"fun to ride until your friends see you on one". :jammin: :headache:

Kracka 05-02-2004 01:36 AM

I am not embarassed of the thing. I'd trade either of the two Ninja's I've owned to get my Yamaha 200cc scooter back. They are just plain more fun to ride. I began feeling that way about one week after I sold my Yamaha. I have my car to go fast...these are just something to kick-back and relax with.

Kracka 05-02-2004 01:37 AM

Oh....and fat girls are not fun to ride no matter the circumstances!

Oh we saw him, we just want our own all the more now.

Kracka 05-02-2004 02:00 AM

Fuck DSM's, its all about 50cc of power. Even if they do break, any given part costs $15 at most.

That is the gayest thing ever. Suits you perfectly! :slap:

AJ 05-02-2004 10:37 PM

hahahahahahahaha. you can see the jealousy in Mike's eyes.

Raptor 05-02-2004 10:43 PM

I think Allan wants a ride on it, you guys can take turns driving but don't post up about the reach-arounds, that is between the two of you.

Kracka 05-02-2004 10:56 PM

You 'tards can't handle the coolness :)

NoNameSteaks 05-02-2004 10:59 PM

there is nothing cool abut the scooter, I would rather have my neon then the scooter and that is not so cool

A//// Guy 05-02-2004 10:59 PM

Can we get a picture with you on it? ;) That would be sweet.

You better tell your lady friend that you wont be seeing any other women, atleast while you take that out on the town. tehehe jk man.

AJ 05-02-2004 11:01 PM

Ok, I hate them both but sorry a Neon is sooooo much less cooler in this case.

If we where to add tub girl to this list, this is the order I would ride them in.

Scooter, Tub Girl, Neon.

And NO LINKS TO TUB GIRL!

Raptor 05-02-2004 11:04 PM

hahahah, that is almost true. Tubgirl should never have existed, but then neither should a neon. I am thinking the list should be more like this.

In order of gayness from top to bottom.

Gayest = neon
next gayest = Tom
followed by the scooter as a close third.

NoNameSteaks 05-02-2004 11:10 PM

Hey the Neon might not have the speed or power of the DSMs here but it does just fine and gets better milage then the DSMs. So I am happy, plus girls still like it. Better then the scooter only that guy at uni should be riding a bike

AJ 05-02-2004 11:23 PM

I get 35+ MPG and I know some Turbo AWDs have 30ish daily driven. Next idea? LOL

1) My fully modded DSM gets over 30 mpg, not too shabby.

2) No they don't.

3) I'm sick of your shit; I was sick of it at Reid's house today and I am sick of it here online. You drive a purple Neon and you annoy me. Why are you on this site? I could care-less about your opinion on things. I do what I do and buy what I buy becuase it is what I find enjoyable, not to please you. I have a Kawi Ninja too; is that good enough for you? Tell you the truth though, the scooter is far more fun to cruise around on.

Halon 05-03-2004 12:15 AM

i say settle this shit on the streets. Scooter vs. neon...

i got 20 bux on the scooter btw

I own a 49cc Yamaha Zuma, and they are fun as hell. Hard to beat it on a nice day. I can get almost anywhere in the metro area on it because most of these sidestreets connect one way or another, and it's not an inconvinience to take a longer route, because you're on the thing just to ride for fun in the first place. Plus it gets damn near 80mpg. My car is going to be dropped off tomorrow to get painted, so I'll be using the thing to get around for a while. You guys are all haters. Rock on Hughes!

glempo 05-03-2004 01:40 AM

hey i think scooter are plenty fun..mybe you should strap a chopper tire on the back.. then it would be hella pimp!

bugdoubt 05-03-2004 04:11 AM

How much did that thing cost you?

Kracka 05-03-2004 09:31 AM

$771 with helmet and locking trunk that mounts to the luggage rack (not pictured).
