Inception *possible spoilers*
Watched the movie last night and it blew my mind. Definitely one the greater summer movies I've seen so far. Christopher Nolan did his job spectacularly great. The other actors matched the characters. I only wished I could watch it again to understand it a bit more because it's a movie that does make you think. This movie is definitely better than Avatar IMO. I only put possible spoilers just in case for those who have seen it, would like to discuss it more. So, who's seen it?
****SPOILER**** I think it stopped spinning. |
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
I saw it Friday night, pretty damn good movie, especially since it was a heist movie (we've had plenty of those recently) but with an original idea. (See what I did there? ;))
The only thing that bugged me is that there was no moral questioning of what they were doing. They were more or less freely going into other people's dreams and had no second thoughts about it, but they knew it was bad and had nothing against it. Even the younger girl who got brought into it didn't even question their motives. There's no way you can say it did or did not stop spinning. We will never know and that's what it so badass about it. |
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Its A Crazy Movie But Its Awesome! I would Love To Brake Into Peoples Minds!!! It did I'm Sure It Did I use To Play With Those Spinning Things Once They Loose Momentum They Start Wobbling So Im Sure It Did

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
So I went to see this movie Saturday...the power in the movie theater cut out right when they went down in to limbo in like the last 10 minutes, i was pissed. Saw it Sunday, the whole thing and the movie was awesome.
I have a question though...did they ever show the top stop spinning? I mean the time that Leo used it in the bathroom he didn't wait for it to stop either... |
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Went to go see it Saturday, right near the end the power went out in the theater. I got to go see it again on Sunday for free :)
Definatly worth watching again!! |

At least the whole movie wasn't a dream :) I still would vote it stopped at the end, it was some heavy wobbling... |

Loved it. The ending really isnt worth debating, because it was obviously made that way to inspire discussions. Just enjoy it for what it was :)

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
the wobble had the audience though. it was funny because the people behind us were like "oh, is going to fall?" CUTS! "ohhhhh man!" everyone said that. hahaha. I think the clues like Leo's character seeing his kids and all might have made it seem like he wasn't in the dream because you don't see the kid's faces until the ending...unless it's just another projection.

I personally don't see much of a moral question. Whether dude breaks up the company or keeps it, he still gets the money and control over that process. There wasn't really any theft there. I think it's just another part of the genius of the film.

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
saw the movie Sunday, its a must see film. like the comment above, its ahead of its time. there are actually two moral issues; forcing someone to think a certain way and monopolizing a business sector. the ending is however you take it, its either real or he is in his teacher's dream, who could possibly architect such a dream.

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Im not reading anything in this thread, because I am planning on seeing it tonight, but would like to know if anyone has seen it in imax, and is it worth the extra couple bucks?
|
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Imax all the way!!!
|
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
The sound in Imax makes it worth the money, alone. I want to see all movies in Imax.

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Everyone was using the technology or so it seemed so no moral qualms there. Remember, the reason we didn't see the children's faces is cuz he knew they weren't real. So at the end when you do see them I believe it was real. It stopped spinning.

^ this is true. the van was also a dream, he was alive and well on the plane.

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Definitely a film that I'll watch again on video.

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
That was a great movie. I saw it last night after reading this.
Couple things though: - The Totam did wabble a bit, and when he was explaining the significance of this with his wife when she spun it, it didnt even wabble at all, just kept spinning on end. Which would say he wasnt in a dream - His children didnt age at all - Which would say that he was in a dream. - When he was talking on the phone with his kids, the girl sounded much older than the little girl he saw at the end "Grandma says your never coming home". - They never lead on to how much time has passed since he left his kids, was it a week, a month, years? |
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Most the time he was away he was in dreams where time is considerably longer, so I am guessing it was less than a year that he was away.
The voice thing I would agree a bit, but who knows. |
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
I swear somewhere in the dialog he commented on how long she had been dead, or how long he had been running.
|
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
I kinda wish the power would have gone out 10 minutes prior to the ending, just so i could get to see it again for free and get some questions answered. :)
|
Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
^easy to say now that you have seen it...it sucked so hard where it ended...all night i was upset, lol, not knowing what happened!

He never woke up from the van, the plane was his limbo. They were saying that when you're in limbo, you make your own world. And that's what he wanted more than anything. |

remember each layer compounds time, so he would have enough time before drowning to death. I think it goes hr's, weeks, months, years. first time he got out they were really old and it was only an hour or so in real life. what's questionable is he saw his kids up to their anniversary, so why can't he project their faces. maybe his guilt projected a maze for him and the girl planted the idea to forgive himself and move on. which would mean he is in a limbo but without guilt and he can project everything without any regrets. |

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
Great movie. Good story, good acting, good visuals. I had a feeling that the movie was going to end the way it did. I don't think this movie would have had so much success without and ending like that. :)

Re: Inception *possible spoilers*
I have seen this movie twice now, and was great both times. Second time was able to catch on to some things I missed the first time around. I wasn't disappointed by the ending, and haven't spent too many wasted brain cells trying to decide if he was dreaming or not. One thing that bugged me, was how the "kick" didn't make the most sense. Seeing as the guy made the formula, so that any sense of falling or tipping would make them wake up, wouldn't the van falling into the water wake them up? And why when they van was tumbling through the air, didnt the wake up? The "kick" when the van was falling, was earlier than expected as well, so wouldn't the sedative still be affecting them, thus, not allowing them to wake up?
