Ok i need a new job, i dont care what it involves, it just has to pay well... like $15+ an hour. anybody know any jobs like this?
also the job search places i use are www.monster.com hotjobs.com careerbuilder.com startribune.com and flipdog.com... anybody know of any others? |
I thought you already had 2 jobs?
|
the web design one i decided not to do, its too time consuming and i never really liked doing that, plus there is a lot of graphic design that is involved which i dont at all mind doing but it gets boreing after a while.
and at ultimate.. well its retail. need i say more. GAY |
I could check at my uncles liquor store, The Red Lion over in Burnsville, I dont know what the pay is, or if he even needs new employees, but Ill check for you.
|
i'm thinking compusa needs some technicians :-D
|
You could always become a thief. You got that move down perfect :stick:
|
Tom, how long have you been working at Ultimate since it's obviously a long enough amount of time to make a reasonable judgement about it being "gay"?
|
What can you do?
|
Boy, what a baited question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a story behind that one. We were at E*Thug's house one night playing pool. Well Tom decided to show off his dance moves. He tried doing "The Thief" and when he turned to run, he fell flat on his face. Missing the pool table by about an inch.

compusa dont pay jack shit do they, and knowing them theyd start me at service bitch, and finally dave wallace is a dumbshit. but are they hiring. because i suppose if the price is right i wouldnt mind doing it as long as its not selling. can you talk to them for me?

Change your skirt and stuff your bra, maybe you will do better. You might try a different corner as well.
If those don't work, you should talk to a few of the other members here that work at Circuit City, maybe they have something they know of. Sad fact is without a good marketable skill it is pretty difficult to say you want X amount of money. The IT industy is flooded with grads that know winblows. Your other experience in audio stuff probably would be a better path to follow for money. People like to pay for their toys. And if nothing else, you could take a night time warehouse job that is union like Supervalue, they are always hiring in that range but it would mean you would actually have to work. |
If you want to make any liveable amount of money and want to remain sane stay the hell away from Circuit City. This coming from a proud CC drone of 3 years tomorrow. It takes a good amount of sacrifice and time to make a respectable wage...
|
Find your local Graybar and apply. Work is pretty easy as far as warehouse stuff goes, and the pay starts out pretty well.
|
duh :uh:
|
Have you ever done any farm work Tom? With planting in full swing there is a chance you could find some damn good temporary farm work until something more long term comes your way.
|
I worked at circuit city for 2 years and that is not where the money is at at all. i get paid more at Ultimate Electronics, plus we get more high end stereos in that pay more.
At compusa i did show up the last day and left on a good note. when i go in there i still chat with steve palacio and hes offered me a job many times but i didnt make enough there. What im truely looking for is like a IT helpdesk job. and mike i do have skills, i take offence to your comment. |
i just remember one day(that I thought was your last) Dave kept walked around going
where the fuck is Furlack and yes he said fuck. did you graduate? |

BTW, I didn't post here just to rip on your skills, you need more money, I think you should look in places were you might find it. Warehouse work is all over and pays decent, work in that trade for a while until you find something in the field you want that pays well.
|
Tom, we chatted on AIM a few days ago and I pointed out to you some warehouse/manufacturing jobs that were starting out near $10/hour, possibly more, and even more than that if you take a 2nd shift position that includes a shift differential. Blue collar jobs aren't glamorous, but they put money in your pocket. Such things could even lead you to going back to school to learn more about the trade such as machining, engineering, welding, etc.
The position that Tom is in is exactly why I've said fuck the IT industry and corporate America. I've decided I've spent too much time in my short life behind a desk having other people tell me what to do. This next year I will be going back to school to learn a new trade, in the automotive field most likely, with the ultimate goal of being on my own with my own business. |
As far as I'm concerned you can never go wrong with going back to school. If you can't afford it, find a way, if there's a will there's a way.
|
Like Mike said, specialization is the key. A normal machinist makes $12 - $20/hr. In the field I was in (citizen swiss) it was $18 - $29/hr at a normal place. Being a machinist is also cool because you can make toys for your car! If you get your 2 year tech degree you should start out around $15/hr.
|
If I remember right, the oil refinery down the street from my house has a manual labor starting pay of $20+ an hour. Its probably more now, since refineries are considered terrorist targets.

most certs mean shit to me(minus very few). I know quite a few MCSE nt4, 2k pro, 2k adv guys who in all honesty, are STUPID. The word paper cert is thrown into my head. work experience is kinda good. But the last part time dude that we hired at the courthouse had 3 yrs of IT support experience for CESA and a school district. Dude didn't know how to setup a Win 2k machine from scratch. He was a ghost bitch. tom can learn, he learned quite a bit at cusa when we were both there. Sure tom we wetarded at times. But who isn't when they first start?? just keep plugging away, I went quite a long time before I got my job at cusa. Started having to sell those stupid cameras. Then I got into the tek shop. Sadly enough, the time I spent in the tech shop me able to get my current job.(req'd 2yr of work experience) |

Dont mind him, it seems to be that time in his "cycle" or something. Or maybe he got banned off another forum or blew up another motor from hammering the bearings in place. We may never know, but in any case he likes to take all of his angst out by making a complete ass of himself on this forum.
|
I think that someone needs a temporary banning. Some one needs to start those, eh moderators?
|
I 100% agree. Even as a joke, that's totally out of line.

Yes he was, and that's why I am leaving Matt's comment. In this case I'm gonna moderate it by letting people tell him what a dumbass he is making himself out to be and also let him completly get stupid so I can justify banning him this time around.

You are a wise one Obiwon

[/b][/quote] racist dumbass Tom, warehouse/assembly line work pays well. I had been at general mills 9 months and I was making 15.11/hr. Not bad work, kinda fun, but not my thing. I was due for another $.50 raise if I would of stayed 2 more months. 3rd shift + skilled (forklift) + grunt (heavy lifting, palatizing)= hella $$ for a 'entry level' job think about it. |

I think you need to broaden your horizons a little and do a little research before YOU open your mouth and stick your whole foot down it. I don't know who is behind the screen of "Conquests are better" nor do I condone some of his pasts posts, but he was in no way out of line in the comment about mexicans working in the fields. |
