46/1000 Project!
http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/...b=5&o=&fpart=1
The project... Haven't really been posting much on Style, but I've been busy lately. Hopefully it will be ready before spring dyno day, haha. Last season, 388WHP @ 25PSI/93 pump, stock motor, stock trans, TD06 20G. This season? HX40, E85, 30PSI? XXX WHP? Oh, and the new built is pretty much a MitsuStyle bastard. Goodhart's motor and head, and SleepyDSM (Kevin)'s HX40 setup. |

Degreased it all. Hit the subframes with Rustoleum hammered paint. Good stuff. More to come. |

http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6196522_n.jpg Gloss black, more gloss black and more gloss black. So tasty... Parts came back from Primo today. Not mounted, just mocked up. Water pipe/motor mounts are also powdercoated in gloss black, but not pictured. I'll probably set the timing/install the timing belt tonight. |

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Update! Yay!
Picked up the HX40 from Wade, and tossed it on along with the O2 housing etc. I need bolts for the exh manifold to head, and I need to figure out my drain line/feed setup. Probably 1 week or so until it goes in. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3416526_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._7939914_n.jpg |

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
I hope u have better luck with that than the previous owner.
|
Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
clean shell, nice build up, goodluck
|
Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Did you get the drain from that Wade guy too? Otherwise I'm sure my bro could find ya one for probably dirt cheap. You were looking at using a stock Cummins return line weren't ya?
If you don't get the feedline from him also, I still have that -3 braided feedline that goes from the head also if it's big enough. |
Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Looking great man! I am excited to see the progress that you are making, it is going to be a blast.

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Swapped the trans and such today... Almost ready for the big swap. Oil pan has to get welded. To everyone who asked, the Holset will be fed by a -4A with a FP red restrictor. Drainage will be done by -19 AN stock Holset line by welded nipple to my oil pan. Sold my Magnecores for some Taylor wires instead, 10MM.
Almost ready... http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3829349_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._5139619_n.jpg |

|
Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
wow thats a beautiful engine bay!!!
|
Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Just thought I'd update this thread a little bit. The motor went in, the turbo is mounted, and the piping is being finished up at Primo.
The fuel pumps need to go in, the axle needs to go in, front motor mount needs to be modified and fitted (looking for one to use in the WTB's), the electrical wiring needs to be plugged in, a battery tray needs to be fitted, some small stuff. I need to buy fluids and add them, and John (Pushit2.0) should be over to help base tune it and give it a shot at starting up. I'm REALLY shooting for it running this Saturday. We'll see how the week unfolds! |

So this is where we ended for the night. All the piping done and coated ink gloss black, turbo mounted (mocked up for now) with the oil line attached to check for clearances. So close! I can feel it! Oh, and for comparison: http://i749.photobucket.com/albums/x...g?t=1310972531 |
