I just read this online, it is pretty sad. Its been a gathering spot for 60 years, bought out by big business expansions.

If you read the article its says Porky's approached the company buying them stating they wanted to sell.

That sucks. I know the strip was overrun with ricers and gangbangers, but this is truely the end of an era. Porkeys always had the big dogs when it came to HP and domestic muscle. It will be missed.

well there's a sonic in bloomington, but still not the same. it might have to replace it =( always loved driving past cause there was almost always some one pulling out and lighting them up and putting down a nice trail of rubber

This is sad I remember growing up and my dad would bring me there. I think it's time for one last Hurrah. I say we all meet saturday there.

Just an FYI. Pretty sure the entire MN car community is gonna be out there this weekend. And with the construction, have fun. Also, pretty much no import car should even be parking in their lot over these last couple days lol. Make room for the cars that truely belong there.

I will be out there. The crowds will be the fun and bring back the memories of the "old times". It has been 10 years since I first started going to University and was first introduced to the madness known as Porky's on a Friday night during the summer.

I was there tonight. I was there for a total of 10 min. 4 hour wate and they where out of pulled pork and almost out of burgers. Uni is a mess!!! There is no parking in the porkies lot.

Was there tonight, got lots of videos and pictures, but to keep it to the point... it's what you guys always wanted University to be. Total mayhem everywhere and cops were ignoring everything. 5 straight hours of burnouts a chick even showed her tits as she was hanging out a sun roof.

I overheard cops talking about when to shut it down and they basically said, ehhh lets keep it going, even with cars doing twice the speed limit. They gave a lot of respect to the people and it seemed like they understood what was happening and why.
