So about the state trooper thread....
I wonder if its fuckbags like this that don't help the cause of driving imports.
(not that i've had a problem lately) http://www.kare11.com/news/article/9...struction-zone "The driver of the car was identified by the patrol as Kirk Deamos, 21, of Raymore, Mo. Deamos was not hurt and was cooperating with investigators, the patrol said. Authorities have yet to say why the car left the interstate. Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Deamos wrote on his Facebook page that he was on his way to Minnesota. On Tuesday, he wrote that he had just acquired the Mitsubishi 3000gt "that is basically faster than ... a rocket. Ready to really test it out on the highway to Minnesota Thursday!!! So pumped! " Cliffs: Fuckbag kid in 3000GT he just bought, kills 2 construction workers on 35W. Condolences to the families of these poor souls just trying to do their job. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
what a dumb fucking kid

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I hope that kid gets raped in prison by some big guy named bubba.

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Saw this on the news this morning during the rush hour news. Had the helicopter come in and everything. It seemed like a pretty bad accident because there was 2 ambulances. Damn, wasn't expecting this kind of outcome. Definitely sad. *sighs* This is going to scar that Deamos kid for life.
Does anyone notice the 3000GT? http://media2.myfoxtwincities.com//p...13_640_480.JPG http://media2.myfoxtwincities.com//p...01_640_480.JPG |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
its a stupid thing to test a car out on a free way, its another to do it on unfamiliar roads during rush hour...
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
any word on if he was speeding, texting, dropped his phone and was picking it up? they have been blabbing about the facebook posts, but I have driven on that stretch of highway, not real easy to "test out" the car.

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Construction zone, seriously?

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
He was driving from out of state, he had plenty of time to test it in the open. Where he was, he might have been tired from driving and fell asleep (I've been drowsy in a construction zone before, it's not a good thing).
Most of these comments would be different if that kid was a well known member here. What if he owned a 9 second dsm or evo and posted here a lot. I think prison rape comments and the ilk are pretty extreme for the amount of information provided in the link. Anyway, Aaron I don't think it has anything to do with imports. Idiots drive all makes and models. As for large numbers of state patrol on the roads and/or more aggressive behavior on their part, this type of accident has no bearing on that. Were the cops or the construction workers supposed to read his facebook page and make sure to be watching out for this kid? If this crash happened on the same day he left, that's like a 10 hour drive, minimum. He was bushed. I bet he fell asleep or was drowsy, someone started merging, and he noticed them, jerked the wheel in an over reaction and lost it. Testing a car on the highway can just as easily mean finding out how it does on extended trips as it can mean rugging it and dicking around. What I'm saying is don't jump to conclusions. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I don't that this incident to me has anything to do with imports, but most kids can only afford cheap cars and imports are usually cheaper than other cars like GTOs and such and are more sort after by the youth today, probably thanks to media pushing them in commercials and movies.
I don't give a fuck who did it, young or old, import or domestic. I hate seeing decent people minding their own business have crap like this happen. My second point was, to the people bitching about troopers hassling them. There is a reason cops hassle people and its because of douche bags like this, probably another reason cops like to try and pull vettes over too, until they see its an old guy. Look how far that car is off the highway, he wasn't going 70. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
It doesnt sound like the guy was racing or messin around.... I dunno what happened and it is tragic, but the guy went off the road pretty abruptly from the pictures, almost like he either fell asleep or was messing with his phone or something.

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Reason for crash:
According to the State Patrol, the driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Kirk Deamos of Raymore, Mo., was northbound on the interstate when he slowed for upcoming construction. Feeling he was too close to the construction wall, Deamos braked and steered right, turning the vehicle harder than he expected. He turned left, then right once more, with the vehicle spinning out in the right ditch. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I actually agree with Fatty for once on this one. I think this was just a tragic accident, nothing more, I don't think the kid was screwing around, I think it was inexperience driving in adverse conditions. What was on his FB page really should be irrelevant.
It really is sad about the construction workers though, I can't imagine the trauma that the wife and kids face when dad is now gone forever. Another sad thing, there was a major accident earlier yesterday right in front my office on 169 and 77th. A younger guy in a F150 crew cab went around the guard rail and slammed into a large steel and concrete sign post at a good clip. There was over 30 cops, ambulances and fire trucks there trying to get the driver out of the truck. They airlifted him to the hospital, I'm not sure if he made it or not. Considering most of the engine was pushed into the cab, I kinda doubt it. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I agree with the FB stuff.
But adverse conditions? where? I've driven that road twice since they have been working there and will be again later. Something just sounds not right to me. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I work right off 13 in savage and drive that stretch everyday and they have cars slowed to like 45 50 mph so he had to have been bookin to throw those workers that far. I've actually talked to Craig because the equipment they use came from my work and it's a real shame that some stupid kid got reckless and ended his life. My reaction would be no different if it was someone I knew from here or any other place that was doing the driving. I hope they charge him with Manslaughter at the very least.
As for the FB postings I hope they use that against him as proof in someway that he was being retarded. Just proves some people don't understand that the best way to test a car is on the track and not on public roads. And to the people that say the driver was tired, you are dumb. I'm sorry if I'm tired I pull off the road at a rest stop and take a nap, and if you need to be somewhere at a certain time you plan for it and not wait till the last possible minute to leave your house. |

Granted I've heard from many people it is very tight there, there is a reason you should slow to the posted speed limits in construction zones. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I love all the stupid ass assumptions in this thread like everyone in here is an expert and knows exactly what happened, then wants to nail the kid to the wall for it. :jackoff:

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Well when you write this on your facebook wall....
Deamos wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday that he was on his way to Minnesota. Of his new car, he posted that it "is basically faster than ... a rocket. Ready to really test it out on the highway to Minnesota Thursday!!! So pumped! :)." How do you think people are going to react? Especially since he killed two innocent people. Dont rip on anyone just because they are emotianally upset about something you think is pure coincedance. Quote:

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I'm not upset at all, I just think people making assumptions about shit they have no idea about is retarded. For all we know he made that post while taking a shit at a Taco Bell after test driving it and never even broke the speed limit. But there you go, another assumption.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Then don't beat around the bush and maybe we can help ease your pain.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
You don't make any sense, but you beat around the bush better than anyone on this board. Pretty much, I was calling you an idiot for assuming all this shit when in reality none of us have any idea of what happened. Fatty pretty much summed up my opinion on the matter with his post, the kid could have fell asleep or whatever, but because he made a post "before" the accident (again, that post could have been made 4 days before it happened for all we know) on facebook, you and everyone else want him crucified. Nothing like blind justice I suppose.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I just want to help you.
I assumed that cops do profile sporty imports more when involved in crashes like this one or when earlier some kid in a 3G eclipse felt the need to almost hit and cutoff people in rush hour on 494. I did call the kid a fuckbag for killing innocent people. I posted this to link why cops may act the way they do "pulling people over for no reason" so people(those that think they get pulled over for no reason) can see why. I made one post that said "I agree with his FB post" infering that I would of guessed he was speeding, was he breaking the speed limit, maybe, lets say fuck no way he wasn't. But was he going to fast for him, i would say yes. Now, do i think a 21 yr. old should lose the rest of his life for some dumb mistake, to be honest I'm thankful its not my choice, but on the flip what about the 1 that is dead and the other guy (I don't know if he is still alive), what do their families deserve? Their kids, wives? I never said the kid should get anally raped or anything and yes it was wrong of me to lean toward thinking he was speeding because he was driving a nice sports car. (Assuming awd tt, i'd love to have one) So I'm an idiot for assuming the kid was speeding, sure. You trying to tell me you didn't think that a bit? But you make it sound like I'm trying to get a rally to get this kid fucking ended. That I am not. I have my opinion and I state it. That is who I am, I am more than reasonable to listen and learn it has happened before and I know will continue throughout my life. But I ask you don't try to make me look dumb or insult me because I have no want to hide or cup someone's ballsack on a matter. A simple, don't you think it is wrong to assume esp. now that we know the kid wasn't speeding. Lesson learned, I'll just think it in my head and see what happens, but people make assumptions all the times on lots of things I think its human nature. Sorry I have inconvienienced you all. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
WCCO (CBS) news last night was FUNNY! They had a report of this accident, a clear helicopter pic of the car and the reporter expounded about the facebook post. He then said that they showed the pictures to an EXPERT on cars who said the car was either an Eclipse or 3000 GT...
My wife enjoyed watching me laughing and rolling around on the floor... |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Very sad story, my thoughts go out to all involved. I can't imagine what any of them are going through right now.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
so im not supporting this kid one bit... but what if he was driving casual, obeying the speed limits and perhaps someone was being a jackass towards the (stupid kid in the import) and pushed him off the road.. or what if he did fall asleep at the wheel? this could have been a simple yet tragic mistake. i wouldnt blame the kid for anything till the police release anything on the subject.. plus would it have made as big of a hit if he were just driving a mini van or a prius?? people see the import and automatically assume the worst..

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
you can't tell me you don't know when you're getting tired. stupid kid should have pulled off the road if he was tired. I'll bet his dumb ass was texting while driving. that alone is stupid and it's even worse in a construction area. but yes I think he should be hung out to dry for this. he killed people just doing their job in a place they were supposed to feel safe. at the very least they should make him do 180 days in jail so he has time to reflect on the pain he put those families through.

I am not going to pass judgement on this kid as it does no good. It could have happened to ANY one here. Doesn't matter the skill of the driver, or what kind of car, or what the conditions. We cannot punish accidents where it was truly an accident. The kid didn't run down the construction workers or do it on purpose. If he was speeding through the zone then yes, give him some time. But if he just simply lost control over corrected sorry but we don't want to go down this road. It simply comes down to Negligence. I had actually just heard a conversation about this on Kfan on friday talking about some case going on. If we start prosecuting people for true accidents where the person was just Negligent, based on the result of the negligence, then whats to say we can't prosecute parents to lose track of their kids at the beach and the kid drowns. etc. If the kid would have crashed anywhere else, there would likely have been no injuries besides his own and this wouldn't have even been a story. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Exactly but even negligence has it's limits. you're driving a car that weighs(forgive my spelling) 3 or 4 thousand pounds there is accountability to be taken into consideration. and yeah if a kid dies because his parents weren't paying attention at the beach and he drowns they should be charged. that's the problem with people today, we are raised to think we are not responsible for the events our actions cause. I would react the same way if it was my own blood that hit and killed someone. and the point is the kid didn't crash anywhere else, he took the lives of two innocent men, men with families. I think part of what ever sentance they give him should be that he sit down with the families and get to know about the two people he killed. the problem with this whole accident is that he walked away, alive, and there are two people in the ground because of it and two families ruined because of his NEGLIGENCE! think about what I said and try to tell me I'm wrong. this "it's not his fault" attitude is a dumb thing to keep saying.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
Wow really guys? Dude was negligent no question. He killed two people being a dumbass. I mean cmon, with the FB posts and the fact this went down in a construction zone alone says wtf. Dude should rot in jail. End of story.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
From what I heard they said speed wasnt a cause. it sucks that this all happened but accidents do happen.
|
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I think that those who are against the kid need to step back and look at things from a different perspective. Put yourself in his shoes. I'm pretty sure he didn't intentionally swerve to hit the workers. It was in fact an accident, speeding or not, sometimes accidents do end up costing the lives of innocent people. That's life. I can assure you that the jail time/punishment the kid gets out of this will be far easier than living with the fact that he killed two people. That will stick with him the rest of his life.

Re: So about the state trooper thread....
I've not lived in Mn for a while so forgive the question if it's stupid.
Doesn't Mn have a minimum fine/jail for hitting a worker on a public road? A lot of the states around here seem to have a minimum $10K fine and 2-3yrs jail regardless of the cause. |

And last i checked Facebook posts don't serve as good evidence in court. |
Re: So about the state trooper thread....
How about this then, a stupid 21year old kid buys a fast car he knows nothing about and before checking the car for general maintenance issues like ball joints and tie rods with 150k on them he decides to be stupid and post on FB he's going to go race his car around when he has no experiece driving it. From the description of what happened it sounds like he jerked his wheel, the tires lost contact and since he probably had ball joints that were put on when the car was made it started sliding and pulling out of control and he finally lost it and unfortunately 2 construction workers were in the wrong spot at the wrong time. This is why when people post that they wan't more power in forums like tunners or talk I usually tell then to do general maintenance before adding any power because dumb shit like this will happen.
And I am sure the guy will be fined and put in jail, he posted on his FB so there is plenty of evidence he was probably driving to fast or aggressive. They will probably look at the skid marks to determine how fast he was going. |
