Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

I was chatting with the parts manager, Mark, at Brookdale Mitsubishi yesterday. He confirmed with me that he is not offering the Mitsu community the same discount as we once had with them. We use to enjoy a 20% off the Mitsubishi retail price. Most Mitsu dealers also have what they call a "matrix" price list. This "matrix" price list is probably 10 to 20% higher than the Mitsubishi retail price. So Brookdale Mitsu is only giving us 20% off the "matrix" price. So, bottom line, you'll be paying just a small amount under the Mitsubishi retail price. :( Brookdale had changed this pricing on us a while ago. Probably 6 or 12 months ago. So some of you have been probably paying the higher price for awhile.

He is still offering myself and a few select others that he knows and trust the 20% off of the Mitsu list price. But it still irritates me that the discount for everyone is gone. It irritates me enough to start buying my parts online. At least for bigger purchases.

What I now recommend is buying from one of the good online sellers:
http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/parts.php
http://www.oemmitsubishiparts.com/
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=213934
http://www.partswebsite.com/cherryhilltriplex/

I'm going to try Cherry Hill for my next purchase. I'm going to save my receipts and eventually show them to Brookdale so they can see what they are missing. If you guys have any recent receipts from online parts places, send me a copy also. I'd love to give them a stack or receipts.

What is really sad is I've been buying my parts from the local dealers for the last 14 years. I've NEVER bought Mitsu parts online. But Brookdale is forcing my hand.

I'm going to put this information on all three of the local Mitsu boards. This information pertains to all the Minnesota Mitsubishi owners.

Thanks,
Curt

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

Brookedale has turned into a real POS dealership from a parts and warranty perspective. I'll continue supporting my local dealership down here since they offer great discounts and prices on parts, labor, cars, etc. plus sponsor numerous track days and club events each year. Brookdale could really take a lesson from Don Herring on what it means to support the community and earn business.

main site: http://www.donherring.com/

parts 20% off retail: http://www.donherring.com/web/parts

Curt, please include the above link in your posts.

Ah, that is a massive bummer. It isn't convenient for me to go to brookdale (live in bloomington) but I always went out of my way and bought everything from them to support them for giving back to the mitsu community. I've spent a ton of money there. I'll also most likely just save myself the trip and order online now as well.

It is too bad, I got to know and like a lot of the guys in the parts department. They are always so much more helpful than parts guys at any other dealer, from what I've experienced.

This is not very cool. After letting their sponsorship slide by just offering us this discount I am very disappointed. Thanks for the info.

Time to pull them from the site, and my recommendations. Moving onto online ordering then.

Wow thats crazy. The only time I was ever treated well there as a car shopper was when I would talk to two salesman that owned Evo's. Other than that my experiences there haven't ever been that positive.

I wonder if we contacted White Bear Lake Mitsu if they would offer us the discount / sponsor the site?

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

I remember emailing scheides in the spring as we bought close to 1K in parts putting two cars back together about this "discount". The way I found out they gave me the price with the discount per headstud, (had none in stock). So I called WBL mitsu and they offer the same part for the exact price as the discount. Needless to say I paid retail for everything I needed, but thought I was getting the "GOOD" discount. Even when I asked them they reassured me that I was getting it.

Im going else where for OEM parts. Thanks Curt for the good links.

Kracka we get 20% at ur dealership?

Edit: Looks like their pulled as a sponsor!

Im not worried about it, I was just referring back to an example and how long ago the discount actually was not available thats all. You didn't hold a gun to my face and say buy from here. LOL. I needed the parts regardless.

Just sucked that they said, "Thats the good discount." Liars

Yup! 20% off if you use that website I linked above or if you call and ask for the NTEC discount. I think TKRMark actually bought some parts through them that Brookdale was trying to rip him off on.

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

I have seen the quality of service there slipping over the last year or so. Wrong parts ordered, taking 10 minutes to look up simple part numbers, etc.

My last experience with them was my worst. After my car accident, I ordered a new lower oil pan and pickup tube. I placed the order on a Thursday and the pickup tube had to come from out of state. I called back the next Wednesday when I didn't get my parts delivered, and was told that there was an error "on the warehouse side" and that my order had not been processed.

I was told they would resubmitted the order and I would receive my parts in a couple of days. A week later, still nothing. My parts randomly got delivered about 3 days later.

Needless to say, I won't be going back to Brookdale Mitsu again.

I too have had a less that great experience there over the last year or so.
Since picking up my latest DSM I have had to go in there for a few things and realized that the price was higher, I even asked them twice about the 20% off.

Customer service has been terrible for a long time and I hate going in there.

I've been using online guys for a while.
Maybe some of the local shops can hook it up?

MAP is able to get OEM Mitsu parts at a nice discount if you want to buy local.

If you guys need anything quickly we'd love to try and help, but keep in mind we do have to charge sales tax (although you would save on shipping)

Nick is no longer there. He was who set up that discount structure.

Has anyone talked to them about keeping it going or are they just being dicks? I will have a talk with them next time I order.

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

Did you read the first post and the rest of this thread? They are not offering the club a 20% discount, yet if you ask about it they claim they are giving it to you.

munchgsx 01-18-2012 01:25 PM

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

Yeah, again Nick was the guy that up held that deal. I'll still ask whats going on.

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

Brookdale Mitsubishi is giving a discount. But its a 20% discount off of a higher list price called "matrix". Bottom line it only translate to a 5 to 10% discount off the Mitsubishi list price. Its not a very good discount. And any online place is going to be cheaper.

I know a lot of the people at Brookdale Mitsubishi and I'm still holding out hope that something can be worked out. But I also want to keep hearing about people's experiences with them.

MAP is another source for OEM parts, but I know how they get there OEM parts and I'm not sure if they'd be able to do better than the 20% off Mitsubishi list price. But maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

This sucks. Always went to Brookdale for all my OEM needs. Thing that bother me now is how the manager selects a few who he trust to get the 20% of the Mitsu list price and all of the rest who use and been doing business with them don't. My door is CLOSED. Thanks for the information Curt.

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

Fuck brookdale. They've been a pain in the ass the last two times I had to deal with them, the last when I needed 6 speed trans fluid for the Evo. Took them 5 days to get a jug of fluid and got no discount after asking about it/mentioning style. I would order my stuff from Don Herring in a heartbeat. I've talked to a few guys down there and they seem cool as shit.

Yes I did. After a fex texts with you it was a no brainer to call and order the parts brook dale had no idea what I wanted even with the factory part numbers.

I had originally just sent Curt a message, as I wasn't sure how much attention this thread was going to get. Since this is obviously a huge bummer for a lot of you, I thought I would post here about what I had sent to him.

I haven't posted anything about this yet, because I just started working there and am still in training. That said, I'm now working at White Bear Mitsubishi Suzuki. Understandably you guys are upset about Brookdale. I can't promise anything will come of it, but I do plan to inform our general manager, Richard (who also owns an Evo), about this situation.

I'll keep you guys updated here in this post.

Re: Price changes at Brookdale Mitsubishi

Hmm, that makes sense. I've been buying there for at least 10 years, but I kinda thought the prices seemed a little high when I bought a ton of Evo parts last spring. I've known Mark for a long time, but I haven't seen him at the counter in a long time. The new guys I don't recognize. That sucks, guess I'm shopping elsewhere as well.

I believe it was Chris who set that discount up a long time ago. When he left, Nick kept the ball rolling.

Too bad they changed the discount.

Yes, I set up the original discount at Brookdale Mitsubishi with Chris Cabe back in 2003. And up until the recent change it was always 20% off the Mitsubishi list price. :(
