Found this on a couple sites. Crazy Shit.
|
very cool
|
Absolutely amazing. What is the soldier looking into at the 1:26 mark?
|
I dont know if this is stupid but by the looks of it it looks like some kind of satallite video reciever or something, i maybe watch too many spy movies.
|
infrared perhaps? but i thought those devices were smaller than that by now. maybe a laser-marker?
|
I'm thinking it's a laser designator, used to "paint" a target for artillery and bombers. Either that or an infrared camera of some sort, able to see heat.
I saw video on TV this weekend of the same stuff. A small group of guys were sitting behind a wall watching a sniper. One guy had a scoped M16 and was just waiting for the insurgent sniper to peek out. A few seconds later he fired and a guy looking in the binoculars said he was down. These guys are starting to take this shit personally which is pretty good considering how demoralizing it is having to get thrown into it. |
the way those guys were behaving, if they were fighting like that in bosnia about 1/2 of them would be dead by now..
i mean COMON why the fuk do you change your clips while ou are not under cover.. wasting ammo like no one's business.. send a tank in and blow the building up. then sweep it, take over the high spots and cover from there. don't group like that.. argh, i'll stop.. -E |

Wasting ammo like no ones business? Ya maybe not any of your business, but I'd sure say it's their business since they are the ones right there in combat. But we do need more experts on modern urban warfare like yourself right there in the middle of it, not online critiqueing their methods. Wanna sign up, I can get ahold of a recruiter in your area if you'd like?

i fought my war when it was needed bitches... you don't need to edumacate me...
|
I can't see how what they're doing is wasting ammo... It's called suppressive fire.
|
i might have over reacted on the amount of amo
the biggest beef i had with that video is lack of cover during the clip changes |
Wow, that is really amazing to see. I can't imagine what it's like being over there right now.
My question, how do they know what they are shooting at? To me it just look random cuz I didn't see anyone shooting back? Can someone explain to me? Thx. |

;) like that?
either way... wars are never good, nor will they ever be, whatever the cause is.. especially oil and or your previous pupet goverment who's rebelled.. |
Enes, they're called "magazines" ;)
Everyone else, I agree with Enes. Those guys seem like they are putting themselves at unnecessary risk. Those guys are standing up under fire like they dont have a care in the world. Their asses if they get shot, but I'd hate to be in their unit. |
Enes dont start up with the reasons we are there again... especially if your wrong...

well now that you wieners have managed to get off topic again...
That is a very cool video. I'd like to shoot an RPG sometime in my life. Do the marines use M4's, or still M16's? AR-15's maybe (doubtful)... |
Sadam goverment was a pupet goverment until he turned on USA, just like Alkaida was!
i am done discussing this! Thank you CVD, you saw what i saw exactly.... -E |
They use both M4's and M16's (M16A3 and M16A4's I think)
|
We will see how long all you war critics last during paintball then.
Mods lock this thread before it turns into another Holy War. LOL. CRAIG |
I agree with Enes and CVD...not to mention Enes has more real life experience in combat situations than any one of us with maybe the exception of ME612.
|
Yea I agree also that they were not using cover or really caring about if they got hit or not. The guy loading the clip while standing up... thats just not too good.
But yea Im not sure how they can even see who they are firing at if they never come out. Unless they did before the vid was taken. I never saw one person on the vid fire back. Only that one shot where the dude got hit by something on his face (chrapnal?). |

Oh wait nevermind I started it.......
CRAIG |
that goes without saying it!
|
That vid doesnt work for me, so "No Comment" from me...haha
|
We us M16A2's. And again, yes it's not the smartest thing to be doing. But to sit and critique a video, and to actually be there in the mix are totally different. Here you're sittin in you nice chair, watching it, looking for something wrong. Them, well they are hot, tired, hungry, bruised, thinkin about their wife they haven't seen in 6 months, thirsty. Under those conditions, you don't function perfectly. They are doing the best they can, and I think they're doing a great job. All my best friends from Yuma are there right now, and the last thing you'll hear me saying is how they should be doing their job, and how I could do it so much better. I'm sitting in my nice A/C room and going out to clubs on the weekends, and they are the ones there right now trying their best to do the job they were sent there to do.

The thing that guy was looking into was infrared optics. It is very similar to the one used in the Bradley fighting vehicle. My drill sergent was in a bradley and he said he could pick out a guy at over 1/2 mile away.
Almost all of the military now uses the M4. Too bad nobody chucked a grenade. I would like you guys to see what they really look like when they go off, not the little explosions that hollywood puts out. I agree, they were not using proper military tactics by not being under cover. They weren't really under any direct fire though, so they must have thought their risk was minimal. It looked like they were just cleaning up stragglers to me. |
that is awesome footage
