Push Connect Vacuum Lines?

Anyone here used these? Lots of options between Amazon, eBay, and McMaster Carr. Looking for anyone with experience using these that can recommend fittings and hose that works well and lasts in the underhood environment, and is decently flexible and doesn't turn hard as a rock in winter.

Here's kind of what I was looking at.

DOT approved black nylon hose:

my buddy uses them on his drag car, they hold 45psi without leaking. im not sure how it would be in the winter though, probably pretty brittle. the line is about as flexible as nylon-braided hose, but can kink if doing too sharp of an angle/turn.

Thats where I got my fittings and line like that for my air shifter on my motorcycle. I pressurize that thing to 150psi before every run and never had a leak and the line is still flexible. I just told them what size I want and what I was going to use it for and they brought out a few different samples and I picked what I thought was best.

Give them a call and I'm sure they can hook you up with what you need.

Oh that's awesome man thanks. Do you know any of part numbers or anything about what you ended up using, so I could tell them that's kind of the route I'm thinking?

Brandon, FYI, we used these guys a lot at PaR, guessing you guys use them at Systems as well potentially. Not sure if they get preferential pricing or not...

I just want to clean up the vacuum mess. Right now there's lines all over, different sizes, different brands, some vacuum some fuel, Tee-s all over with zip ties clamping them with the ends kind of cut that scratch the fuck out of my arm. So I just want to redo it. I might just use normal vacuum hose again and just make it cleaner, but thought maybe something like this wouldn't really cost all that much more to do, and be nicer, cleaner, and sealed super tight so less worries about vac lines ever popping off.

I used 1/4" line on my setup and feel like I might have ended up using the Nycoil fittings.

http://www.nycoil.com/Fittings/PushFtg.html

I could see if I can find the receipt when I get home and double check. My setup is probably way more simple than what you'd need for a car. But I just used a Y fitting like this one
http://www.nycoil.com/Fittings/CompYMaleInch.html
then 2 90 degree elbows
http://www.nycoil.com/Fittings/CompM...ElbowInch.html
Then I got a few feet of line and still have a little bit of extra left over. I couldn't tell ya what brand of line I got but I got more than I thought I needed because I don't remember it being super expensive.

I just went into JHF on my lunch with a drawn out sketch of the shit I wanted and about 15 minutes later he just came back with the stuff I wanted. Guy I talked to was really nice and helpful. Could look at the Nycoil site to get an idea of stuff you'd think you'd need and if you had part number and a sketch I'm sure they'd get you taken care of

Re: Push Connect Vacuum Lines?

One thing I noticed is that this nylon tube, they refer to it by it's OD. Where as normal vacuum line I believe is typically referred to by it's ID.

So if I have a bunch of 1/4" vacuum line on my car, I'd want like 3/8" nylon push connect lines for that.

So your 1/4" nylon line, is probably more like 1/8" vacuum line?

Re: Push Connect Vacuum Lines?

Tube size is by OD and hose size is on ID. I would think with a heat gun you could bend the tube.

I'll add here incase you didn't see in the SB, but I should have some laying around you can try.

If it works you can take it in to the store to get the exact size.
