stuck ebrake
so ive getting close to the end of my 4 bolt swap, just got new ebrake cables in.
i pulled the ebrake to check tension and i noticed the driver side didnt pull up evenly. so i had my gf pull it while i watched the caliper, the ebrake arm didnt move at all. anyone know how to fix this or am i just gonna have to get a diffrent caliper |
Re: stuck ebrake
You might be able to free it up with some PB blaster or rust penetrant and working it back and forth a bunch. Or you might have to buy a new caliper.

Re: stuck ebrake
Is it the arm or the cable that is not moving?

Re: stuck ebrake
its the arm on the caliper, i replaced both ebrake lines

Re: stuck ebrake
You can try pulling the caliper off and turning the piston, righty tighty and lefty loosie so see if that frees it up any. Break and Equipment Warehouse is local and should be cheap, or buy used.

Re: stuck ebrake
how do you turn the piston? i tried but the best i could figure out was getting a screw driver on a little notch, but that didnt help much

Re: stuck ebrake
Yeah, 1G DSM e-brake setup = fail, i have been looking at the setup that the 2G has, I really like it, drums for ebrake, disk for normal brake = win
