.020 over pistons..
Ok so i just figured out that my car has .020 oversized pistons on the rebuild.. suppositly it was rebuilt by parts from "top line" anyone ever heard of this brand??
btw what is the major difference between stock and .020 |
Re: .020 over pistons..
Top Line is some cheap brand that makes a lot of OEM replacement parts. I wouldn't trust their stock replacement pistons as much as Mitsu ones.
The difference between stock(STD) and .020 is .020 inches :) |
Re: .020 over pistons..
performance wise?

Re: .020 over pistons..
Basically nothing performance wise.
|
Re: .020 over pistons..
More displacement, and thinner cylinder walls.

Pie * R^2?

Re: .020 over pistons..
I like pie, but I believe you're looking for Pi.

Re: .020 over pistons..
Nope, French Silk * R^2.

Re: .020 over pistons..
soooooo if i have a 2.0 whats the displacement then
|
Re: .020 over pistons..
You gained around 23cc. So you went from slightly smaller than a 2.0l to slightly bigger.
|
Re: .020 over pistons..
You now have a 2.02L engine, Hondas beware!

Re: .020 over pistons..
Isn't the displacement of the 4G63 something like 1996cc? I'd do the math if I had the specific bore and stroke measurements.
|
Re: .020 over pistons..
I seem to remember it being 1998cc, but I will double-check that.

Re: .020 over pistons..
Taken from SCC:
he 4G63 name simply indicates that this Sirius engine displaces two liters. While 4G63s have all used 85mm cylinder bores and an 88mm stroke (1997cc total displacement), the 4G63 installed in the Mighty Max pickup had 84mm bores and a 90mm stroke, resulting in 1996 cc of displacement (but the same nominal 2.0-liter description) |
Re: .020 over pistons..
owned.
these .020 more inches will smack on viper/vettes, i've noticed |
Re: .020 over pistons..
About as much performance increase as going from 87 to 89 octane with no tuning changes.
