Engine sleves?
I was just wondering if the 2g blocks are sleved.

Re: Engine sleves?
No they are not from the factory.

Re: Engine sleves?
Does anyone here have any experience doing it with these engines?

Does Shep or Rau even run aftermarket sleeved blocks? |
Re: Engine sleves?
Well, I believe I bought a car with a blown head gasket, and possibly a cracked block. I believe the engine was stock. I think I might just take the engine out and put a jdm pull off back in place of it.

Re: Engine sleves?
Usually it is just cheaper and easier to replacement the block with some other donor than to pay to have a cracked sleeve fixed.

Re: Engine sleves?
Ok, that's what answers my questions, THANKS.

Research on the JDM thing too. It has been brought up many times here. The Cliff's Notes are: don't buy JDM, get an american block. It isn't a Honduh.

I will try some JDM type R sleeves in my next motor.
I say drop in a 6bolt and be done with it. ~John |
Re: Engine sleves?
I bored my sleeves .200 over, I get lots of cylinder cooling now.

Re: Engine sleves?
I picked up some JDM cuff links for my sleeves and I swear it added like 30WHP!

Re: Engine sleves?
Dam, and I thought I was cool cause I had the ultra rare GVR4 cuff links for my sleves.

Re: Engine sleves?
I cuffed my sleeves as well for preventative measures, only because I crushed my flamidation valve so I'm running at more dangerous levels now.
