Re: Engine sleves?

Does anyone here have any experience doing it with these engines?

What do you have planned? The stock sleeves are reliable enough for just about anything you could throw at it.

Does Shep or Rau even run aftermarket sleeved blocks?

Re: Engine sleves?

Well, I believe I bought a car with a blown head gasket, and possibly a cracked block. I believe the engine was stock. I think I might just take the engine out and put a jdm pull off back in place of it.

Re: Engine sleves?

Usually it is just cheaper and easier to replacement the block with some other donor than to pay to have a cracked sleeve fixed.

Research on the JDM thing too. It has been brought up many times here. The Cliff's Notes are: don't buy JDM, get an american block. It isn't a Honduh.

I will try some JDM type R sleeves in my next motor.
I say drop in a 6bolt and be done with it.

Dam, and I thought I was cool cause I had the ultra rare GVR4 cuff links for my sleves.

Re: Engine sleves?

I cuffed my sleeves as well for preventative measures, only because I crushed my flamidation valve so I'm running at more dangerous levels now.
