Do you sand blast the valve covers first?

We do offer blasting on valve covers and we also offer just chemical stripping or hand sanding as well.

Not yet, we were hoping to have ceramic up and running but right now we're just focusing on powder coating.

If a wheel has gouges in it, what is the best consumer product to fill these in before powdercoating?

Re: Pictures of our powder coating work!

I wouldn't recommend anything short of professional wheel repair for a damaged wheel. Too much is riding on the integrity of a wheel, literally. I bent/flatened a stock X wheel and it was only $125 to repair and refinish.

What do you do for cleaning of the valve cover if blasting is requested?

We have a parts washer that we use to degrease the covers and get rid of any residual oils etc. then we bake the covers to burn off any leftover oils so it will contaminate the final finish. Then after blasting we have several rinsing steps and final surface wipes as we need and depending on the type of metal.

I'm just thinking small pits and scrapes in the finish. $125 could buy me a brand new wheel easily.

I would say its a mix of gunmetal and hyperblack. It's a little darker in person but its an awesome color.

It depends how deep they are. Keep in mind when they're stripped before coating it will get rid of any surface blemishes and scratches that are in the finish and not down to the metal.

That crushed silver looks like almost a perfect match for stock VIII Enkei's. A side by side comparison would be cool.
